RS Pura (JandK), Dec 21 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) Jawans have left no stone unturned to ensure safety of the people of the nation and they are patrolling at LoC in the freezing weather in JandK's RS Pura. Temperature constantly clocking zero to minus degrees has failed to divert jawans' attention. One of the BSF Jawans said, "We stay alert at the border all the time, no matter if it's raining, sunny or winters. We cannot rest as it will lead to problems to our citizens. People of country are soundly sleeping because they trust us." BSF jawans are known for their sharp alertness even in harsh weather conditions.

B-town celebs attend Sohail Khan's b'day bash

Mumbai, Dec 21 (ANI): As actor-turned producer Sohail Khan turned 50, he celebrated his birthday bash with industry friends. B-town celebs arrived at Sohail's residence to wish him on his birthday. Helen and Salim Khan were seen outside his residence. Superstar Salman Khan also joined his brother's birthday party. Man arrested in alleged rape of minor girl in Surat

Surat (Gujarat), Dec 21 (ANI): Police arrested one man in connection with the alleged rape of a 4-year-old girl in Gujarat's Surat. Shashi was arrested by Surat Police on December 20. The incident of rape took place in Sachin GIDC area of Surat in November. While speaking to ANI, the Police Commissioner of Surat City, RB Brahmbhatt said, "We are interrogating the accused. Further investigation will be done."

BMC rolls out meal at Rs 10 for employees in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Dec 21 (ANI): The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has rolled out 'thali' (meal) for Rs 10 in its canteen for employees. BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar inaugurated the initiative on December 19. The meal includes two chapatis, rice, daal and two vegetable dishes. While speaking to ANI, the Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said, "The Rs 10 meal scheme is a part of Shiv Sena's manifesto. Since the BMC canteen already had the option, we decided to introduce it here." "The scheme will be soon introduced for the common people," she added. Speaking to ANI, owner of the canteen, Savita Palkar said, "Everybody is coming here. The response is good. People are coming here and enjoying lunch at Rs 10." Homeless move to night shelters as winters in Delhi get chilly

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): As temperature in the national capital is hovering on the lower levels, the homeless turned towards night shelters to cope with chilly winters of Delhi. The government-supported night shelters have become heaven for these homeless people. They are provided with free blankets and pillows in a night shelter near AIIMS metro station. Delhi has been continuously reeling under cold wave for the past week. Due to bad weather and cold waves the flight operations at Delhi airport are affected. 46 flights were diverted till midnight due to dense fog at Delhi Airport. On the other side around 17 trains to north India are also running late due to operational reasons.

3 arrested in alleged gang rape of woman in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur

Jashpur (Chhattisgarh), Dec 21 (ANI): Three persons were arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district on December 20. They were arrested from Pathalgaon town of Jashpur district. The gang rape of a woman took place on November 01. While speaking to ANI, the police official said, "The incident happened in November when the victim was called to Phutela village by one of the accused on the pretext of a birthday party."

Guwahati (Assam), Dec 21 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal assured the people that adequate measures will be taken to get the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord implemented. He said, "Assam will remain with the Assamese people. For this, whatever legislation are required, we will bring those. Bhim Army chief detained by Delhi Police from Jama Masjid

Delhi Police conducts flag march in Seelampur post violent CAA protests

New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): The Delhi Police on December 20 conducted a flag march in Seelampur area where violent protests had broken out on Dec 17. 10 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas here. Speaking on this, Delhi's Northeast DCP VP Surya said, "There is peace in area today. 10 companies of paramilitary forces deployed and 1500 other security personnel also present in the sensitive areas here.
