BJP to stage 'sadak bandh' throughout Telangana over RTC issue: K Laxman

Hyderabad (Telangana), Nov 18 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party on November 19 will stage a 'sadak bandh' throughout the state of Telangana against ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), announced BJP's Telangana president Dr K Laxman. The strike will be against the acts of some of the officials in the state government who are acting like "agents of the ruling TRS" by going against those sided with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees, Laxman told ANI. The employees of the TSRTC are on strike for over 40 days demanding merger of RTC with the government.

Researchers say running lowers death risk

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): Running can reduce the probability of death from any cause, says a new study. If more people take up running and they don't have to run far or fast, there is likely to be substantial improvement in population health and longevity. It's not clear how good running is for staving off the risk of death from any cause and particularly from cardiovascular disease and cancer.

TikTok crosses 1.5 billion download mark

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): Viral video app, TikTok, has crossed 1.5 billion downloads worldwide on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, according to the latest Sensor Tower report. TikTok ranks at number three when it comes to the most downloaded non-gaming app of the year. WhatsApp continues to be the top app, followed by Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram at second, fourth, and fifth spot respectively.

Illicit liquor cartons worth Rs 50 lakh seized in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad (UP), Nov 17 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police recovered illicit liquor of around Rs 50 lakh in Ghaziabad. The liquor was being brought from Haryana. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sudhir Kumar Singh said, "Police team has recovered 570 cartons of liquor. We have arrested one accused."

India, Bangladesh practice with pink ball ahead of Day-Night Test
