Jaipur (Rajasthan), November 13 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently held a public hearing at his residence in Jaipur. The CM listened to the grievances of people and also gave necessary guidelines to the officers to solve them as soon as possible. In the public hearing, a delegation from Karauli district also welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Gehlot to upgrade Suroth, Sub-Tehsil to a new Tehsil. The delegation expressed gratitude for fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people of the area. This decision would give easy accessibility to the local residents of the area for their revenue related works getting done locally.

Will take appropriate decision in evening: CM Yediyurappa on 'if 17 MLAs joining BJP'

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court allowed the disqualified rebel MLAs of Karnataka to contest in the upcoming by-polls on December 05. The court, while upholding the disqualification, struck down the time limit imposed by the then speaker, which would have lasted till the end of the term. Speaking on the Supreme Court's decision, Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa said that he welcomed the decision of Court. He said, "I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court which has given the verdict that all 17 MLAs can contest by-elections. Tomorrow onwards, we are going to go to all assembly constituencies. We are going to win all the 17 seats 101%." On being asked on 'are all the 17 MLAs joining BJP, Yediyurappa said, "Just wait till evening. I will discuss with them, I will discuss with the national leadership also. We will take an appropriate decision in the evening."

Supreme Court upholds disqualification of 17 Karnataka rebel MLAs

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): The Supreme Court on November upheld the order of former Karnataka Assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar to disqualify 17 rebel MLAs of the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular). However, the top court also said that the 17 Karnataka MLAs can contest the by-elections scheduled for next month.

NDMC sprinkles water in the city as air quality goes 'severe' in Delhi

YouTubers land in lock up as prank for scaring people goes wrong

Bengaluru, Nov 13 (ANI): 7 YouTubers arrested for dressing as ghosts and scaring unsuspecting commuters in Bengaluru. YouTubers typically wore white robe and a wig with long hair that covered their face. They tried to harass a person who was sleeping outside the shop. DCP of North Bengaluru S Kumar said, "The youths were forcefully stopping and scaring the passersby, they were arrested under bailable sections and given bail in the police station itself."

Odisha's oldest cultural festival 'Baliyatra' begins

Cuttack (Odisha), Nov 13 (ANI): On the auspicious occasion of Kartika Purnima, the oldest cultural and business trade fair 'Baliyatra' of Odisha began in Cuttack on November 12. State Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro inaugurated the festival. Indonesia Ambassador to India Sidhato Reza Suryodipuro also joined the inaugural function. The festival will continue till November 19. It is being held at the Baliyatra grounds on the bank of river Mahanadi. Around 1,000 makeshift stalls have come up for this year's festival. 'Baliyatra' is held every year to celebrate glorious maritime history of Odisha. The festival attracts thousands of visitors every year.

AQI getting worse in Delhi, again goes 'severe'

According to the government's air quality monitor, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), PM 10 is 497 and PM 2.5 reached 500 at Safdarjung Area. As the result, a thick layer of smog covered the Africa Avenue road and Vasant Vihar area in National Capital. Not just national capital Delhi, but other areas are also chocking under the bad air quality conditions, including Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida and Haryana's Faridabad.

President's rule imposed in Maharashtra amid power struggle

New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): Amid the political tussle in Maharashtra, President's rule has been imposed in the state on November 12 after the recommendation of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for the same. The decision came at a time when Congress and NCP, which on November 11 received Koshyari's invitation for government formation, were discussing to chart out a plan to support the Shiv Sena in the state.
