New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): The security has been tightened at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital on November 01. Security was beefed up after a suspicious bag was spotted in the airport premises. Dog squad of CISF unit was present at the IGI airport. Further investigation is underway in the matter.

Known for its serene landscape, the trek route witnessed very high footfall this season. Around 17,000 travellers from India and around the globe visited the valley this year. Kalpeni (Lakshadweep), Nov 01 (ANI): Lakshadweep islands witnessed rough sea and heavy rain due to cyclone Maha. Navy personnel are on their toes to help the affected people. Water also entered residential areas hitting normal lives. Navy is co-ordinating with Lakshadweep Administration to shift people to shelters from affected areas. Heavy rainfall is expected very likely at isolated places over Lakshadweep, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
New Delhi, Nov 1 (ANI): Twitter has announced that it will ban all political ads on its platform globally. In a series of official tweets, CEO Jack Dorsey wrote that political reach should be earned not bought, stressing on how purchasing the reach can be used to influence votes, affecting the lives of millions. He wrote that Twitter will stop candidate ads as well as issue ads which can also be purchased by candidates. The final policy will be announced by November 11 and it will be enforced globally on November 22, 2019.
Pune (Maharashtra), Nov 1 (ANI): Pune Municipal Corporation has painted walls across the city as a part of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. With the help of some NGOs, Pune Municipal Corporation has started the initiative to beautify the place. Some of the walls adorn paintings depicting city's tourist places.

Speaking at a function organized by Pragna Bharati on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate Sardar Patel's birth anniversary, Naidu said, "Popularly known as the Iron Man of India, Sri Patel was the architect for integrating more than 560 princely states into union of India during Independence." "Displaying the highest qualities of statesmanship, Patel went about the task of unifying India which will remain as one of the greatest accomplishments in the annals of world history," he added.
Siliguri (WB), Nov 1 (ANI): Authorities in Siliguri have prepared artificial ghats for devotees observing the four-day Chhath Puja. After the National Green Tribunal imposed a ban on performing rituals in the river, the artificial ghats are constructed at Gandhi Maidan under ward number eight of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). Organisers along with the support of local residents have prepared 130 Chhath Ghats in 2019. "The concept of artificial ghats which was first designed by our committee in India is being practised this year as well. We have made ghats at Gandhi Maidan to give devotees a natural river-like atmosphere," said the organiser Khusboo Mittal. The auspicious festival, which started on October 31 is celebrated with huge fervour in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
Mysuru (Karnataka), Nov 1 (ANI): As many as 15 students of a school in Mysuru were admitted to a hospital after they claimed to have eaten chocolates while celebrating birthday of a classmate. They consumed chocolates in school and were admitted to Ramakrishna Hospital. All the 15 students are from the fifth standard.
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Oct 31 (ANI): The trainee doctors at the government-run Coimbatore Medical College Hospital here on Thursday extended their support to the striking doctors who are demanding an increase in their salaries and post-graduate admission quota in medical education. The indefinite strike was started by the trainee doctors on Thursday. The demands of protesting doctors, including five who are on an indefinite fast, include increase in salaries, quota in post-graduate medical education and appointment of more doctors.

While speaking to media persons, Dada said, "We have spoken to Delhi authorities in last 2 days, they are expecting the match (India-Bangladesh 1st T20) to go through, we couldn't cancel it at last minute. Post Diwali is a difficult time in the North because winter comes in and lot of smoke and dust." "In the future when we schedule, especially in Northern part of India in the winter we will have to be a little more practical. I have spoken to the grounds man he says once the sun comes out, it will be fine," he added. Mumbai, Oct 31 (ANI): A delegation from Shiv Sena met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan on October 31. The delegation included Aditya Thackeray, Ramdas Kadam and Eknath Shinde. They met the Governor seeking prompt financial aid for farmers hit by untimely rains. Speaking on the meeting, Thackeray said, "We requested Governor to provide assistance to farmers and fishermen who suffered damages due to recent rains. Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Oct 31 (ANI): Government doctors have continued their strike in Tamil Nadu. They are demanding an increase in their salaries and post-graduate admission quota in medical education. Speaking on doctors' strike, Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Vijayabaskar said, "In Tamil Nadu's government service, 16,475 doctors are in position. So far, our honorable Chief Minister had given them the invitation to drop the strike and kindly join the service. After the announcement, total 2, 160 doctors have returned to work till now." He further said, "Definitely, we will consider them. Definitely, doctors should be patient-friendly and government should be doctor-friendly."

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Chief Justice of India (CJI) designate Sharad Arvind Bobde on Thursday said that the justice delivery system is good in India, it might require some minor changes, including the use of technology like artificial intelligence. He said, "It's a good system, you need to use some other things. There are long term measures and short term measures. Long term measures are legal education, and short term measures are better staffing, better arrangements." Justice Bobde, will become the 47th CJI on November 18 succeeding Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): The author of the bestselling book 'Dial D for Don: Inside Stories of CBI Missions' has yet come up with his second book 'Khaki Files-Inside Stories of Police Investigations.' The former Justice of Supreme Court Madan B. Lokur released this book in a programme organized at Constitutional Club at New Delhi. The book is the compilation of many high-profile cases of his career as an IPS officer. He also revisited many more cases which includes December 13 2001 Attack on Indian Parliament and a case of 23-year-old Physiotherapist who was brutally gang-raped in the moving bus in Delhi in December 16 2012.
