Jalgaon (Maharashtra), Oct 13 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13 addressed a public rally in Maharashtra's Jalgaon. While addressing the gathering, he talked about Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which was abrogated by the NDA government on August 5th. Coimbatore holds its first official Pride parade

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Oct 13 (ANI): Members of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Coimbatore held a 'Rainbow Pride Parade 2019' on October 13. Over 70 members of LGBT community participated in the parade. This is Coimbatore city's first official pride parade. This pride march was held with an aim to fight discrimination against LGBT people in the society.

PM Modi dares opposition parties to declare bringing back Article 370 in manifesto

Jalgaon (Maharashtra), Oct 13 (ANI): Ahead of assembly elections in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13 addressed a public rally in Jalgaon. While addressing the gathering PM Modi slammed opposition parties over abrogation of Article 370. He dared the opposition parties to declare in their manifesto that they will bring back the provisions which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. "I challenge my opponents to come with clear stand (on Article 370). If you have courage, then announce it in your election manifesto to bring back Article370. They are shedding crocodile tears every day. Do they have strength to do it? Will people of this country allow it?" said PM Modi.

BJP releases manifesto for Haryana Assembly polls

Kerala govt to help transman become India's 1st transgender pilot

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Oct 13 (ANI): Kerala government has decided to bear the training cost of 20-year-old Adam Harry to help him become the country's first transgender. Hary, who has been disowned by his family, aims to become the country's first transgender airline pilot and inspire other people of his community to follow their dreams and passion. While speaking to ANI, Harry said, "I am the first transman person to obtain a private pilot license and I am planning to pursue commercial pilot training in India for which the government has planned to support me financially. I am very happy about that. I did my private pilot training from Johannesburg in South Africa and it was a one year course. Soon after I returned to India after completing the course, my parents got to know about my gender identity and they put me under house arrest when I was 19. Elephant dies of Herpes virus in Karnataka's Shivamogga, 24 undergoing treatment

Shivamogga (Karnataka), Oct 13 (ANI): One elephant, Naganna, recently died after getting infected by the virus Herpes in Karnataka's Shivamogga. The virus threat at Shivamogga Sakrebailu Elephant Camp has become a cause of concern. Chandrasekhar, Deputy Forest Conservator, said that precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the rest of the elephants do not get infected by Herpes."We are taking precautionary measures in the camp for the rest of the elephant. Ten elephants are under observation and have been kept outside Sakrebailu Elephant Camp," he said. As many as 24 elephants in the camp are undergoing treatment.

Metal cactus being prepared to adorn 'Cactus Garden' at Statue of Unity

Vadodara (Gujarat), Oct 10 (ANI): In a bid to attract more visitors, the Fine Art faculty of Maharaja Sayajirao is preparing unique and colourful art pieces of iron cactus for the Cactus Garden which is in the vicinity of the Statue of Unity. The state government, along with the Centre, is trying to get maximum footfall at the monument. "The monument has become famous internationally. A cactus garden is being prepared here for which we are designing a variety of iron cactus. The government has invited faculty of fine arts to portray our art pieces there. We will be placing these cacti on a wall of around 8,000 square feet in the garden," said Jayanti L Rabadia, Professor of Fine Art faculty. Painting cut-outs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will also be installed in the garden among other art pieces.
