Mumbai, Oct 13 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended 'Mumbai walks with BJP' at Marine Drive on October 14. He said, "In 2014, Mumbai was with us and 2019 Mumbai will be with us." Legislative Assembly elections is planned to be held in Maharashtra on October 21 to elect the 288 members of Legislative Assembly. The results will be announced on October 24.
Hapur (UP), Oct 13 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Hapur Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dinesh Kumar has married a woman, who had accused him of sexual exploitation. The woman alleged that she was physically exploited by the SDM for four years on the pretext of marriage. "Dinesh Kumar came to take his belongings from Hapur. A woman claimed that Dinesh Kumar promised to marry her. He was living with her for four years. But nobody did not know about their relationship. He wanted to marry but decided to postpone after fighting with her," Kushinagar District Magistrate, Anil Kumar Singh told media. Kumar was earlier posted at Khadda tehsil but he went to Hapur after transfer. When he came back to Kushinagar to take his belongings, the woman forced him to marry her but Kumar refused. Anil Kumar and other officials tried to make the woman understand but she did budge. Later, she married Kumar at a temple and also registered the marriage.
Mandsaur (MP), Oct 13 (ANI): Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) worker in Mandsaur. "We have arrested four people in connection with the death of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) worker, Yuvraj Singh. Three men had shot him dead on October 9. Search for four other accused is underway," Hitesh Choudhary, SP, Mandsaur said while speaking to reporters. The Police Officer said illegal weapons have been recovered from them. "The main accused are Deepak Tanwar and Vicky. Vicky himself is related to Bajrang Dal. There are a total of eight accused in the case," said the Police Officer.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 13 (ANI): An 11-day long Khadi festival was kick-started by the Uttar Pradesh government in Lucknow on October 02. A fashion show was organised on October 12 to promote Khadi clothes on the last day of 'Uttar Pradesh Khadi Mahotsav-2019.' Khadi festival was organised to mark the culmination of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebration. Famous fashion designers Ritu Beri, Rina Dhaka and others attended the event. Uttar Pradesh's Cabinet Minister for Khadi and Gram Udyog Sidharth Nath Singh also marked his presence with other dignitaries. About 100 stalls were set up in the exhibition.
Pune (Maharashtra), Oct 13 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Maharashtra's Pune on October 12, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar on being asked if there is any order to ban TV show Big Boss, he said, "I have asked Ministry officials for a report on what is being shown (on the Big Boss show). Krishna (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 13 (ANI): Two people were arrested in possession of around 200 kg of 'ganja' (cannabis) in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district on October 12. The cannabis was seized from Bapulapadu mandal of Krishna district. Case has been registered and further investigation is underway in this regard.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 13 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on bomb threat at Lucknow Airport, Circle Officer of Krishna Nagar Police Station Amit Kumar Rai said, "The man was interrogated. The plane took off after a thorough search by the security officers. Further investigation in the incident is underway." Earlier, Lucknow Airport Authority gave a statement that Piyush Verma, a passenger was interrogated for displaying unusual behavior at the Airport on October 12. During interrogation, he said there is a bomb on a Chennai bound IndiGo flight that was scheduled to depart at 7:25 pm. Later, all authorities have been alerted, and the flight has been held up.
Doda (JandK), Oct 13 (ANI): In all, 34 women including a 64-year-old have filed nominations in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district for the coming Block Development Council (BDC) elections, scheduled to be held on October 24. Around 1,900 voters will elect 17 councillors one in each block. Ghat is the oldest rural development block of Doda district with 126 voters. In Ghat block, 64-year-old Sharifa Begum has filed her nomination for the post of councillor. She was elected as the Sarpanch for the Ghat Panchayat in the last Panchayat polls. Speaking to ANI, Sharifa Begum said, "I will work for everyone's welfare. I personally know each and every household and very well aware of their problems. If I win, I will bring development in this area." New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Facebook is facing a lawsuit for alleged trademark infringement by copying the logo for Calibra, subsidiary for its Libra cryptocurrency. A startup bank, Current has sued the social networking giant for copying its logo, The Verge reports. The two logos were designed three years apart and Current claims it started using its logo in August 2016 while Facebook's logo for Calibra was revealed earlier this year in June.
New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Men and women are different on various dimensions including benefiting from low-calorie diets, proves a study. In the study of more than 2,000 overweight individuals with pre-diabetes who followed a low-calorie diet for eight weeks, men lost significantly more bodyweight than women, and they had larger reductions in a metabolic syndrome score, a diabetes indicator, fat mass, and heart rate. Women had larger reductions in HDL-cholesterol, hip circumference, lean body mass (or fat-free mass), and pulse pressure than men. The findings have been published in the journal Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 12 (ANI): Police recovered body of a minor from a drain. Police were looking for two brothers who were missing from UP's Shahpur since September 27. Gorakhpur SP, Kaustubh said, "Police was looking for two missing brothers. During the search, police found body of a 7-8 years old boy from the drain which was in disintegrated condition."
Moroni (Comoros), Oct 12 (ANI): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on October 12 emplaned for Sierra Leone's Free Town from Moroni. Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 12 (ANI): Farmers in Punjab started burning the residue after harvesting paddy in the autumn to clear the fields as they don't have any other option. A farmer from Punjab's Amritsar said, "Punjab government does not give them any option by which they can clear the agricultural crop residues." Every year between October and November, air quality deteriorates in Delhi and its neighbouring states, as farmers burn the residue after harvesting paddy to clear the fields and make way for the sowing of wheat, despite there being a ban on burning agricultural residue.The National Green Tribunal in the order passed on (10.12.2015), directed and prohibited agricultural residue burning in any part of the NCT of Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Junagadh (Gujarat), Oct 12 (ANI): Case has been registered against two women and a juvenile girl, who were seen in the video holding snakes on hands while performing Garba in Junagadh. Two more persons have been booked by the police in connection with the case. The case has been book under Wildlife (Protection) Act. According to Sunil Berwal, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Wildlife), Junagarh,"Case has been registered against 5 persons in connection with a viral video in which young girls were seen performing Garba holding cobras at an event on Oct 06. 5 accused, including a 12-yr-old girl, produced in court". The video gone viral on social media shows two women and a juvenile girl holding snakes while performing Garba during Navratri festival.

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that this year no relief would be extended to privately owned CNG vehicles under the odd-even scheme, though women would be exempted from the scheme. The odd-even scheme will come into effect in Delhi from November 04-15 as the government looks to measures to combat high-level of air pollution caused due to stubble burning in neighbouring states during winters.
Murshidabad (UP), Oct 12 (ANI): In the latest development on Murshidabad triple murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team reached victim's residence where the heinous murder took place. The CBI officials inspected the house and searched for clues during their investigation. However, the CID restricted didn't reveal anything related to the case. On October 08, a teacher, his pregnant wife and minor son were brutally killed at their residence at Murshidabad district. Police have also detained two people in connection with the murders.
