Mumbai, Oct 12 (ANI): The iconic 'Kali Peeli' Padmini taxis, which reflected a link with Mumbai's past and were portrayed in several Bollywood movies, will become a part of history as they will not be seen on the roads after June 2020. These cabs have a strong connect with Mumbaikars heart as these were the lifelines of the city. Fondly known as 'kaali peeli' or 'Fiat', these cabs display the originality of old Mumbai. However, in the midst of various cab services and vehicle options available in India now, the number of Premier Padminis has gone down drastically over the years and so it's production. While speaking to ANI, leader of Mumbai Taximens Union ML Quadros said, "The Padminis have dominated the streets since the 1960s. But now there are hardly 50 to 60 cabs on the streets of Mumbai. Potka (Jharkhand), Oct 12 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das attended the 'Johar Jan Ashirwad Yatra' in state's Potka on October 11. While addressing the public gathering, CM Raghubar Das said, "In East Singhbhum district, new road of around 2445 km has been constructed in past 4.5 years. Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), Oct 11 (ANI): As part of its Ganga Calling Campaign', the National Mission for Clean Ganga is seeking the participation of youth for the rejuvenation of the holy river. The rafting expedition, which was inaugurated by Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Devprayag reached Rishikesh, where the members of the team interacted with the students at the Triveni Ghat. The students took an oath to contribute for cleaning and protection of the Ganga. The Ganga Aamantran Abhiyan will cover the five Ganga basin states- Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal. Pune (Maharashtra), Oct 11 (ANI): South Africa coach Enoch Nkwe praised India skipper Virat Kohli, who scored a double ton on Friday, by calling him a 'world-class player'. Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 254 runs, his highest individual score in the longest format of the game, on the second day of the second Test match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. "I mean he is a world-class player. Credit to India today, in terms of how they went about their business. It was a very crucial partnership between Rahane and Kohli. Obviously, he led by example and it was a great knock from him. It was superb to watch," Nkwe said in the post-match press conference. Kohli now has the most number of 200 plus scores, 7, for an Indian batsman. With this innings, the batsman has also gone past the 7000-run mark in Test cricket.

Murshidabad (WB), Oct 11 (ANI): State Armed Police CO Tanmoy Sarkar in West Bengal informed that the culprit in Murshidabad triple murder could be someone close to the family. "The man who was killed in Murshidabad triple murder case apparently borrowed some money from people. We also have a doubt that one or more people well known to their family may did this. They might have poisoned the food. A letter was also found and we think it is written by the wife and it will be checked but as per letter there was some problem between the man and his wife," he added. Meanwhile, residents have threatened to launch an agitation if no strict action is taken against the criminals involved in the murder of a family which is claimed to be a part of RSS. "No strict action has been taken till now, we demand the authorities to arrest the criminals as soon as possible," said a local.
