Mamata Banerjee meets Amit Shah in Delhi, says genuine citizens left out of Assam NRC

New Delhi, Sep 19 (ANI): Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, met union Home Minister Amit Shah and handed him an official letter mentioning genuine citizens being left out of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam. "I handed over a letter to him and told him of the 19 Lakh people left out of NRC, many are Hindi speaking, Bengali speaking and local Assamese. Many genuine voters have been left out. This should be looked into. I submitted an official letter," said Banerjee. The NRC final list was published on August 31. More than 19 lakh people in Assam were excluded from the final list.

NRC being used to divert attention from economic challenges: Harish Rawat

New Delhi, Sep 19 (ANI): NRC (National Register of Citizens of India) is being used to divert everybody's attention from the economic challenges and the critical issues that the country is facing, said former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat on September 19. Incessant rains have led to a flood-like situation in the region with villages near the bank of Ganga river being partially submerged in water. He will fly in twin seat version of the Tejas combat aircraft. The Tejas is an Indian single-engine, delta wing, multirole light fighter designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.

Factory making fake medicines to boost milk productivity busted in Indore, 1 held

Indore (MP), Sep 19 (ANI): A man was arrested by Indore Police on Wednesday (September 18) for running an illegal factory making fake medicines to boost buffalo milk productivity in Dwarakapuri. Acting on a tip-off, the police team busted the factory operated by Bhimsi Bhai, a 34-year-old resident from Gujarat. Soon after this, police called drug department for the investigation of medicines found in large quantity in the illegal factory. As many as 4,000 bottles of medicines, 16 bottles of phenyl, 3 acidic acid canes, 300 l tanker and packaging materials were seized by the police, Drug Inspector Dharmesh Bagoliya said.

Later, the victim lodged a complaint in women's police station Shivamogga. After that her husband forced her to withdraw the complaint and stop sending money. "I don't accept this divorce. I have registered a case. Police said that they can't do anything as my husband stays in Dubai," said Victim.

Rampur (UP), Sep 19 (ANI): A woman and her three month old daughter allegedly burnt alive by her in-laws in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur. Deceased's relative claimed that in-laws kill their daughter over demand for dowry. However, police has registered the case. Superintendent of police, Ajay Sharma said, "Investigation will be done on the basis of circumstantial evidence. Efforts are on to nab the accused."
