New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): Family members and classmates of a 17-year-boy who went missing protested at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. He has been missing for last 10 days from New Delhi's Mayur Vihar area. He went missing while he was returning from his coaching institute. A case has been registered. They claim that police have found nothing concrete about boy's whereabouts.

Thiruvananthapuram woman sets up business by growing organic veggies on terrace

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Sep 08 (ANI): A woman from Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram has set an example for people looking for home-based business opportunities. Padma Suresh, a house wife used her 500 square feet terrace to do organic farming. Beginning as a leisure activity, Padma is generating income by selling organic vegetables in market. There are about 15 varieties of vegetables on her terrace including of tomatoes, beans and okra. Besides her personal use, Padma sells extra vegetables to her regular customers who get in touch with her through WhatsApp group and Facebook group. Padma also assists individuals in cultivation such as preparing soil or planting vegetables. Support that she receives from her family is a matter of great pride for Padma.

Several houses damaged in J-K's Rajouri due to ceasefire violation by Pakistan

Rajouri (J-K), Sep 08 (ANI): Heavy shelling by Pakistan damaged several houses in Kalal and Deeing village in Nowshera of Rajouri district. Indian Army retaliated strongly. Mortar shells were spotted across the village fired by Pakistan Army. Police is present at the spot to assist locals. Brijesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police said, "No casualty or injury reported till now."

5000 'descendants' of Lord Ram flock to Ayodhya, demand swifter decision on Ram temple

Ayodhya (UP), Sep 08 (ANI): Around 5000 people who claimed themselves as descendants of Lord Ram submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate of Faizabad Anup Kumar Jha, in which they mentioned the same. The group, which belonged to Akhand Raghuvanshi Kalyan Samaj, also requested the Supreme Court to quickly take the decision on the Ayodhya land dispute case. While speaking to ANI, a self-proclaimed descendant said, "We appeal that Supreme Court should announce the decision as soon as possible on the Ayodhya land dispute case. Hum chahte hai Ram mandir jaldi se jaldi bane. We request the SC judges that next time the question on the existence of lord Ram should not be raised." The Supreme Court on September 06 dismissed a petition seeking direction to quash proceedings of civil appeals in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case. Amended motor vehicles law will bring change in coming 3-4 months: Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): The recently amended Motor Vehicles Act will bring change in coming 3-4 months, Minister of Environment and Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said on September 08. Minister said that in coming months there will be less reports on huge traffic fine because till then people get used to following traffic rules. Javadekar was addressing the media on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's 100 days at office in its second consecutive term. Under the new law, penalty for driving without licence has been increased 10 times to 5,000, while penalty for drunk driving has been increased by five times to 10,000.

FIR lodged against Ludhiana MLA after spat with Gurdaspur

Wild tusker 'Maniyan' killed by herd of elephants in Kerala's Wayanad

Wayanad (Kerala), Sep 08 (ANI): Wayanad's famous wild tusker 'Maniyan' passed away on September 07. The 30-year-old was attacked by a herd of wild elephants near the Kurichedu forest. The carcass of the elephant was found at Pullumala forest range of Wayanad. 'Maniyan' was an extremely friendly tusker and he formed a tight bond with the villagers of Irulam in Wayanad. Villagers used to feed him bananas and other fruits whenever he visited them. 'Maniyan' succumbed to multiple injuries on his body including deep wounds at his forehead.
