New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): Priyanka Chopra is jetting off to the Toronto International Film Festival 2019 for 'The Sky Is Pink' world premiere. The actor will be joined by co-actors Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf at the film festival, which is scheduled to take place on September 13. The 'Isn't It Romantic' actor took to Twitter to announce her departure on Saturday and wrote, "On my way to Toronto International Film Festival today. Can't wait for the rest of the team to join me for the premiere on the 13th. So excited for the amazing early reviews and to share this with the world! #TheSkyIsPink." Priyanka's tweet was accompanied with a happy snap of hers with the star cast, including Farhan, Zaira, and Rohit from a beach. The film is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with an immune deficiency order at the age of 13. It also sheds light on the love story of her parents. It is co-produced by Priyanka, Ronnie Screwvala
Jaipur (Rajasthan), Sep 07 (ANI): Former prime minister and Congress leader Manmohan Singh on Sep 07 said it is a "stressful time for democracies all over the world", adding that in order to strengthen Indian democracy, institutions like the Supreme Court, Election Commission, Central Bureau of Investigation and others are expected to function independently. "We have to respect supremacy of Parliament and its procedures. Serving the federal structure, institutions like Supreme Court, Election Commission, CBI and various others are expected to function independently within framework of Constitution,"Singh said while addressing a gathering at JK Lakshmipat University.

Poonch (J-K), Sep 07 (ANI): Pakistan again violated ceasefire in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) on September 7. The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to the ceasefire violation. Pakistan Army used small mortar shelling during the ceasefire. No loss of life has been reported yet. On September 01, Pakistan Army had violated ceasefire in Poonch district due to which a soldier lost his life.
Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Sep 07 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sep 07 said parties like Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress are speaking language of Pakistan as they have anti-national agenda, and told the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to make sure these parties don't get to open their accounts in the upcoming state assembly elections, scheduled to be held later this year. Addressing a gathering of BJP workers at a 'mandal prawas' meeting in Jamshedpur, CM Das said before becoming Chief Minister, he is a BJP worker, and said he was addressing the party workers as being one of them. Chennai, Sep 07 (ANI): A total of 204 cadets were commissioned as officers after passing out parade at OTA (Officers Training Academy) in Chennai for the batch of 2019. Commissioned officers include 153 gentlemen cadets, 30 lady cadets, and 21 foreign cadets (12 men and 9 women) from friendly countries. Parade was reviewed by Lt General Satinder Kumar Saini - General Officer Commanding in Chief South Command who also presented the sword of honour and gold medal to Ravi Kumar and Silver medal to Abishek Kumar and Bronze medal to Wickremadithya Manker.

Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 07 (ANI): An encounter broke out between police and criminals in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha on September 06. A wanted criminal who suffered bullet injury was arrested. He was wanted in several cases and carried a bounty of Rs 20,000 on his head. Meanwhile, the other criminal escaped from the spot. Police seized one motorbike and one pistol from their custody. The injured goon has been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. Investigation is underway and combing is going on to arrest the escaped criminal.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of city traffic police in Ludhiana, Ashok Kumar displays his humanitarian side by this welcoming gesture. The idea of distributing slippers came into his mind when he saw barefoot poor people walking on streets during his duty. Kumar has been doing this good work from one year. He purchased 50 pairs of cheep slippers and put them into his patrol van, whenever he spots a barefoot poor he distributes slippers to them.

Leh (Ladakh), Sep 07 (ANI): Kisan Mela cum Exhibition (Vegetables and Flowers Expo-2019) was organised in Leh on September 06. This exhibition was organised by Department of Agriculture and Forest Department, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Leh/ Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI)-Shimla. Deputy Chairman of LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal inaugurated the exhibition at Leh Indoor Stadium. Leh is fully prepared to cater the industry with locally grown food products after being declared as UT. A wide range of vegetables, fruits and flowers were presented by the local farmers who later got awards for the same. There were stalls of local handicrafts and food items which were installed by several Self-Help Group (SHGs).

New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): India's ambitious second lunar mission Chandrayaan 2 was expected to make its soft landing on the surface on the moon on September 07. However, Chandrayaan 2's lander 'Vikram' lost communication with the ground stations just minutes before soft landing.
