Delhi Police cracks GK-2 murder case

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): South district Delhi Police has arrested five people including a domestic help for murdering his 91-year-old employer Krishan khosla in Greater Kailash-2. The prime accused Kishan who has admitted to the crime, said that he was frustrated with the constant nagging of his master Krishan Khosla. So, he conspired with his friends to kill his employer. After killing him, they stuffed his corpse in a refrigerator and transported it to different house in an auto-rickshaw. They fled the site after dumping his body in a pit in that house. A technology-driven comprehensive investigation helped police in nabbing the killer and his accomplices. Based on the information they arrested Kishan, they later arrested other four culprits. Kishan killed his employer in a macabre manner.

P Chidambaram sent to Tihar Jail till Sep 19 in INX Media case

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Former union finance minister and Congress leader on Sep 05 was sent to judicial custody till Sep 19 by Rose Avenue Court in Delhi in connection with the INX Media case. The order followed Supreme Court's refusal to grant him pre-arrest bail in the case; however, a Delhi Court today granted him and his son Karti Chidambaram anticipatory bail in the Aircel-Maxis case, in which the father-son duo is facing probe by enforcement agencies. Chidambaram is in CBI custody for the past 15 days and was arrested on Sep 21 by the CBI from his Jor Bagh residence.

'Whatever happened was not good': Sunny Deol meets Gurdaspur fire victims

Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 05 (ANI): Gurdaspur's Member of Parliament (MP) for Lok Sabha and BJP leader, Sunny Deol, met people who were injured in the explosion that took place at a firecracker factory in Gurdaspur's Batala on September 04. In the incident, 23 people were killed and 20 got injured. While speaking to ANI, Deol said, "Whatever happened was not good. We pray this type of incident won't repeat anywhere. We will investigate the matter and provide our help."

74-year-old woman delivers twin babies in AP's Guntur through IVF

Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 05 (ANI): A 74-year-old woman has delivered twin baby girls in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur city on September 05. Erramatti Mangayamma gave birth to twin babies through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) technique and might have become the oldest mother in India to give birth to twin children at this age. While speaking to ANI, Director of Ahalya IVF Hospital, Dr. Umasankar, said, "She approached our hospital last year for getting a baby through IVF method. Egg from a donor and sperm from her husband, were used. She conceived the baby in January." "She has delivered twin girls today, both are healthy. Mother is in Intensive care unit (ICU)," the doctor added. Both the babies are healthy and weighing around 2 kg. Egg donors will breast feed two of them. Mangayamma hails from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Her husband Rajarao is 80-years-old and a farmer by profession. They got married in 1962 but don't have any children till date.

Special court grants anticipatory bail to P Chidambaram and Karthi in Aircel-Maxis matter

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): The veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram and his son Karthi was granted anticipatory bail in both Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases in Aircel-Maxis matter. The former finance minister is already in CBI custody in connection with INX media case. Chidambaram was arrested from his Jor Bagh residence in Delhi on August 21 after the Delhi High Court rejected his request for an anticipatory bail in two cases being investigated by ED and CBI.

RPI doesn't want to fight Maharashtra elections on BJP's symbol: Ramdas Athawale

Mumbai, Sep 05 (ANI): Union Minister and Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale on Thursday said that party will contest Maharashtra Assembly elections on our own party symbol. While speaking to ANI, he said, "BJP and Shiva Sena have decided to give 18 seats to allies, RPI has demanded 10 out of those 18 seats. BJP's Odisha unit holds all-party 'Shradhanjali Sabha' for its 'blue-eyed' boy Jaitley

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Sep 05 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha unit held an all-party 'Shradhanjali Sabha' for one of party's blue-eyed boy late Arun Jaitley in Bhubaneswar on September 5. Dignitaries from all parties attended the ceremony. Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and among other politicos remembered Jaitley. BJP stalwart and former finance minister took his last breath August 24 at AIIMS. He was 66. Lawyer by profession, Jaitley had been a key member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet in the BJP government's first term. Due to health issues he refused to take any ministry in the BJP's second term.

20 students hospitalised after eating breakfast in Indore school

Indore, Sep 05 (ANI): Twenty students fell ill allegedly after consuming breakfast served by the administration of an Indore primary school on Sep 04. Parents have claimed that the children have fallen ill after eating 'Pav Bhaji' served for breakfast. They alleged that the dish was prepared by the school administration using contaminated water. All the 20 children were immediately rushed to hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting.

Teacher's Day: President Kovind confers National Awards to teachers

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): On the occasion of Teacher's Day, President Ram Nath Kovind presented National Awards to teachers in Delhi. Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal and Minister of State (MoS) for Human Resource Development (HRD) Sanjay Dhotre was also present at the ceremony. Awards were presented to 46 exceptional teachers for their commitment to improve the quality of school education. The award is in its 61st year having been instituted in 1958. Teacher's Day in India is celebrated in the memory of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan whose birth anniversary falls on September 5. Dr Radhakrishnan was a renowned academic and served as the President of India from 1962 to 1967.
