Mysore (Karnataka), Sep 02 (ANI): At least four people died after a car they were travelling in fell into a trench near Madyangala on Mysore National Highway, on September 02. Police rushed to the spot after the incident was reported. Rescue operation is underway.

New Delhi, Sep 02 (ANI): Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane laid wreath at National War Memorial in the national capital on September 02. He took the charge as Vice Chief on September 01. Vice Chief is a decorated officer who has been awarded the 'Sena Medal' for effectively commanding his battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the sources, Lt Gen Naravane will be in contention for the Army chief's post as he will be the senior-most commander when incumbent General Bipin Rawat retires on December 31.
North 24 Parganas (West Bengal), Sep 02 (ANI): Around 25 supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) injured in a clash with Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers in North 24 Parganas's Barrackpore city on September 02. BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in Barrackpore as they are protesting against the attack on party's MP Arjun Singh on September 01. The injured have been taken to a hospital for medical treatment. BJP is protesting from time frame from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. BJP Member of Parliament from Barrackpore Arjun Singh sustained a head injury during a clash between his party activists and the police at Shyamnagar area.

Gorakhpur (UP), Sep 02 (ANI): School students took part in a rally to spread awareness about encephalitis in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur. The children with placards were seen raising slogans to spread awareness. They took to streets to make people aware of the disease. Encephalitis has been reported from many parts of India, however, it is prevalent in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is a mosquito-borne viral infection of the brain.
Pathankot (Punjab), Sep 02 (ANI): IAF Chief BS Dhanoa and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on September 02 flew a sortie in a MiG-21 fighter aircraft from the Pathankot Airbase. During Pakistani counter attack on India on Feb 27 in response to Balakot airstrikes, Abhinandan had flown a MiG 21 Bison fighter into PoK. His jet crossed across the border after striking down a Pakistani aircraft during a dogfight.
Amtali (Tripura), Sep 02 (ANI): Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, with 10 grams of brown sugar in Tripura's Amtali on September 01. While speaking to ANI, Inspector of Amtali Police Station Subrata Chakraborty said, "The two were caught red-handed while they were trying to transport the consignment of 10 gram brown sugar hidden in a car from Agartala to southern Udaipur city." He added that the driver of the vehicle, Maran Shil, who had recently retired from the Border Security Force (BSF) and the woman are part of a bigger syndicate in the illegal drug trade. "The driver of the vehicle is retired BSF personnel, and along with Ranjita Ghosh, is part of a bigger illegal drug trafficking syndicate. We will produce both in court and ask for their remand in order to find out the names of the others who are involved in the illegal trade," Chakraborty added. Further investigations are underway.
Imphal (Manipur), Sep 02 (ANI): A student of class 9th of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Manipur's Imphal has been shortlisted to witness the landing of Chandrayaan 2 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 07, 2019. Wahengbam Devananda is among the 60 students who will get the chance to witness landing of Chandrayaan 2. He hails from Yaralpat area of Imphal East. While speaking to ANI, Wahengbam Devananda said, "I did not believe it when I got to know that I was selected for the programme. I am very happy that I will get to watch the landing of Chandrayaan 2 alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu), Sep 02 (ANI): Marine police of the Coastal Security Group (CSG) recovered around 500 kg of sea cucumber (endangered species) along the Mandapam coast on September 01. The sea cucumber was recovered from a mechanised boat. Later, the seized sea cucumber was released in the sea. Investigation is underway in this regard.

These products are claimed to be chemical free. The motive of making these products is to increase consumption of eggs in different ways. New Delhi, Sep 02 (ANI): Researchers claim a first-of-its-kind Smartphone app called OnTrack can predict ahead of time when users are likely to lapse in their weight loss plan and help them stay on track. People on weight loss plans often experience lapses, which can prevent successful weight loss or even lead to weight regain, according to the study published in the journal, 'Translational Behavioural Medicine'. The study evaluated the effectiveness of the app among weight loss program participants, individuals attempting to follow a structured online weight management plan from WW (previously known as Weight Watchers) for eight weeks. OnTrack uses advanced statistical methods -- machine learning -- to learn over time a user's individual patterns of eating.
