Virat Kohli, R. Ashwin bag top honours at BCCI awards

Bengaluru, Mar 09 (ANI): Indian Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli and ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin won the Polly Umrigar award for the Best International Cricketer of 2015-16 and Dilip Sardesai award for his magnificent performance in the West Indies, respectively, at the 2017 Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) annual awards. Expressing happiness on receiving the award for the third time, Kohli said that he always wanted to be among the top players and thanked his teammates and people for the support and trust they had on him. The skipper further said that it is his self-belief that has drives him to success and will continue to follow the path.

India beat Australia by 75 runs to level series 1-1

Bengaluru, Mar 07 (ANI): India on Tuesday beat Australia by 75 runs in the second test to level the four-match series at 1-1 as R. Ashwin grabbed a six-wicket haul on the fourth day of the second Test in Bengaluru. Giving details, Captain Virat Kohli said that it was a quite emotional match with many ups and downs making it the sweetest victory for us. The visitors, who had a target of 188 runs, folded up for 112, levelling the series 1-1 so far.

There is a line which players shouldn't cross on cricket field: Virat Kohli

Bengaluru, Mar 07 (ANI): Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday expressed disappointment on the Australian players looking at the dressing room for confirmation while taking the DRS review and said that there is line which the players should not cross on the cricket field. Kohli said that he even informed the umpires and the match referee that they have been doing this from past three days and this has to stop.

India crush England by 75 runs, win T20 series

Bengaluru/ Hyderabad/New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Supporters and fans of the Indian cricket team rejoiced after the men in blue won the three-match T20 series against England on Wednesday. With the series win at 2-1, India won the final match with 75 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was declared man-of-the-match for his six wickets for 25 runs. He was also the man-of-the-series for the 11-match-long series, taking eight wickets and giving away only 85 runs. England lost eight wickets for mere eight runs.

Ace spinner R. Ashwin named ICC Cricketer of the Year

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Indian Cricket Team's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday was named the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Cricketer of the Year. The all-rounder has become the third Indian player after Rahul Dravid (2004) and Sachin Tendulkar to win the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. 30-year-old Ashwin picked up 72 wickets from 12 Tests this year, for which he was also named the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.

Golfer Aditi Ashok becomes first Indian Woman to lift European Tour Event

Gurugram, Nov 13 (ANI): Golfing sensation Aditi Ashok scripted history on Sunday as she became the first Indian woman to win a Ladies European Tour title by clinching the Hero Women's Indian Open. Aditi had a two-strike overnight lead and shot a level par 72 shot in the final round, making her one stroke clear of her competitors Brittany Lincicome from USA and Belen Mozo from Spain. Lincicome and Mozo tied at second position. The Rio Olympian golfer needed at least a birdie on the final hole to avoid a three-way tie. But she held her nerve to secure her 13th birdie of the tournament on the par-5 18th to make the history.
