Bara (Nepal), Apr 04 (ANI): Chairman of Terai Madhesi Loktantrik Party Mahanta Thakur has accused the administration and judiciary in Nepal for discriminating against Madhesi people in the country. He was addressing a public rally in Bara district on Tuesday. The people of Madhes region are opposing the local elections scheduled to be held on May 14 as their demand for an amendment in the constitution has not been fulfilled by the government.
Kathmandu, Nepal, April 03 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met the delegation from Madheshi Ethnic Society Coordination Society and assured them about addressing the demands made by the agitating parties. Dahal claimed that the election slated for May 14 will commence successfully in a harmonious environment. He also claimed that the government is in an attempt to bring the agitating United Madhesi Democratic Front alongside the election. The delegation has submitted the letter to Prime Minister Dahal with demands to amend the constitution as earlier as possible.

Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 26 (ANI): Indian envoy to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, on Saturday arrived in Kathmandu, where he is expected to present letters of credential to President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Puri, an IFS officer, has been recently appointed as the 24th Ambassador of India to Nepal. He has previously served as the Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. He had also been the member of India's Security Council for two years. Letters of credentials are instrument by which the head of a state exercises his or her power to appoint ambassadors and ministers to foreign countries.

Abu Dhabi, Mar 24 (ANI): At least ten Punjabi men have been pardoned by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) court after the father of the Pakistani man they had accidentally killed submitted a letter of pardon. The letter was given after the NGO Sarbat Da Bhalla Charitable Trust, run by NRI businessman SPS Oberoi, paid blood money of Rs 60 lakh in Pakistani currency to have the men released. The men were accused of killing Pakistani national Mohamaad Faran in July 2015 during a fight over bootlegging. Speaking on the same, the victim's father Mohammad Izaz said that humanity was above all else.

Britain's senior counter-terrorism officer Mark Rowley on Wednesday said that the attack on Westminster Bridge appears to be inspired by 'international terrorism' but declined to reveal identity of the attacker.
