Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 21 (ANI) : The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Monday protested outside the Election Commission's (EC) office against the decision of removing 'Hindu State' from its charter. The police baton charged the workers and fired tear gas shells to disperse the protestors in which more than a dozen RPP cadres were injured. The cadres of RPP blamed police of using excessive force in retaliation and demanded for resignation of Home Minister.

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 17 (ANI): An event titled 'In the shadow of the Silk Road' with the tagline 'Economic Exploitations and Human Rights Violations in Balochistan' was held on the sidelines of 34th United Nations session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Thursday. During the event organised by the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation, political activists and intellectuals from Balochistan raised the issue of Pakistan committing gross human rights abuses in the shadow of multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. They also highlighted the issue of consistent disappearances of political activists, bloggers and from Balochistan, Sindh and nearby provinces. The issue of economic exploitations and human rights' violations has been making headlines ever since India raised it in August 2016.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 16 (ANI): Dusan Vejinovic, a senior research analyst at the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) based in Amsterdam, on his part said extensive operations targeting the press and pro-independence groups are carried out by the ISI, Pakistan's infamous spy-agency in the region. "Cases of arbitrary arrests by the ISI, in which people have been tortured to death, are widespread," he said. Vejinovic also brought the attention towards the UN resolutions of 1948 which 'incorrectly' mentions 'Azad' Kashmir as a 'local authority'. "In reality, it is the local colony of the State of Pakistan which rules it with impunity through its intelligence agencies," he said.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 16 (ANI): At the World Sindhi Conference (WSC) in Geneva, participants criticised Pakistan for unleashing atrocities on the indigenous population in Sindh province. WSC Chairperson Rubina Greenwood accused Pakistan of forcibly converting the Hindus, Shias, Sufis and Ahmedias of Sindh region. She further alleged mass exodus of Hindus living in the province.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 16 (ANI): United Kashmir People's National Foreign affairs Secretary, Jamil Madsood, said, that Pakistan will have serious repercussions if it decides to make Gilgit-Baltistan region as its fifth province. Maqsood added that the People of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will resist the change 'harshly' at all levels. Kathmandu, Nepal, 15 March (ANI): The United Democratic Madhesi Front walked out of the Parliamentary meeting after Vice President of Nepal Sadbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna accused the government of turning a blind eye to the plight and the demands of the Madhesi people. He also accused the government of becoming insensitive regarding the deaths at the time of protests in Madhesh. Earlier, the alliance of Madhes-based parties had given an ultimatum to the government saying that it would withdraw its support to Prachanda-led government if the local election dates are not revoked in seven days.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 15 (ANI): In addition to the series of protests and conferences against the atrocities on minorities in parts of Pakistan, a seminar on the 'Enforced disappearance in Pakistan Past and Present' was also held in Geneva on Tuesday. Khan of Kalat, HH Amir Ahmed Suleman Daud, said that there have been instances where Pakistan tortured women and threw their bodies in mountains from helicopters. A number of minorities from Baloch to Christians have come forwards against the Pakistan Government for denying them basic rights.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 15 (ANI): After attending a conference on the 'Persecution of Christians in Pakistan' in Geneva on Tuesday, a group of activists alleged Pakistan and its Constitution of betraying the minority group of their basic human rights. The activists alleged that the Christians based in Pakistan are facing jobs, social and employment deprivations. Forced conversion and forced marriages are amongst the other issues encountered by them, the activists said. The issue comes in row to the consistent violation of the human rights of Balochistan residents.

Prominent world leaders such as Vice President of the European Parliament, Ryszard Czarnecki, and Baloch activist Mehran Marri brainstormed on the subject. CPEC is a multi-billion dollar project that aims to connect Kashgar, a province in Western China to the port of Gwadar based in Pakistan's Balochistan. On the sidelines of this event, another seminar on the 'Systematic state suppression on basic human rights in Balochistan' was also held.
Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 14 (ANI): South Asia Democratic Forum's Director of Research Dr. Seigfried. O. Wolf has expressed his concerns about the consequences of 'China Pakistan Economic Corridor' in Balochistan. Dr. Wolf said that CPEC will lead to militarisation of Balochistan and local people will not get any benefits from the corridor. He further said that CPEC will result in severe economic distortion as the local companies of the region will have to compete with other foreign companies. Meanwhile, Baloch Representative to UNHRC Mehran Marri also shared the same concerns and stated that the CPEC will lead to the exploitation and elimination of human resources. Further, he said "CPEC is nothing but a military project by China to threaten all the OPEC nations."

Birgunj, Nepal March 11(ANI): Madhesis led a nationwide strike in Nepal to protest the killing of four cadres in police firing in Saptarai district recently. Though the impact of the strike by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) had been minimal in the Kathmandu Valley, educational institutions remained shut. However, Birgunj saw the maximum outrage as the protesters came on roads in large numbers. The protesters staged demonstrations by burning tyres and a torch rally shouting slogans against the government. A large number of security personnel were also deployed to prevent any untoward incidents in the region. Protestors were angry as they called the killing of their cadres a deliberate attempt by the government.
Geneva, Mar 10 (ANI): Junaid Qureshi, a Kashmiri writer, and director of European Foundation for South Asian Studies International human rights activist on Friday told United Nations that Gilgit Baltistan is integral part of Jammu and Kashmir. Qureshi stressed that his homeland Jammu and Kashmir is not for sale. Qureshi strongly rejected the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying it is illegal and in contravention of International law.
Kathmandu (Nepal), 10 Mar (ANI): In protest to the killing of four people in Saptari District recently, the Federal Alliance has called for a nationwide strike in Nepal, which has affected the daily life in Kathmandu.The number of public vehicles decreased in the capital, compelling people to travel in the overcrowded vehicles or walk on foot.
