Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 10 (ANI): Speaking against the continuous atrocities on Balochistan by Pakistan, Baloch Republican Party (BRP) leader Brahumdagh Bugti said that it was Pakistan's aim to target the ones who stand for the rights of the Baloch people. He further added that the red notice issued by Pakistan against him is a childish act of the latter.

Tripartite talk held as a matter of concern over the ongoing situation in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal, 9 March (ANI): The protest is intensifying in Nepal's Terai region ahead of the election that will be held in the month of May. Violence broke out after the opposition Communist Party of Nepal - United Marxist Leninist attempted to hold a rally in Rajbiraj town in the southwest of Kathmandu. However, the ethnic Madhesi groups oppose the party and have vowed to stop the rallies which led to clashes and protests in the region. As a matter of concern to control the ongoing situation in the Southern Plains and for the smooth conduct of election, a tripartite talk was held between the leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Maoist leaders. During the talk, the opposition party urged for complete security ahead of the by poll campaign and vowed to resume the campaign soon. The agitating UDMF has also asked for the cancellation of 14th May Local Election but the opposition has rather demanded for election on the stipulated time.

Disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir aided, abetted by Pakistan: Indian envoy to UN

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 09 (ANI): Slamming Pakistan for its cross border terrorism activities, India's Ambassador to United Nations in Geneva Ajit Kumar on Thursday said Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan has an illegal occupation on a part of its territory.In his address during the 34th United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session, Kumar said that the disturbance which took in Jammu and Kashmir last year was due to cross border terrorism, alleging Pakistan always tries to send infiltrators inside the state. He added, "Pakistan is in illegal occupation of a part of our Jammu and Kashmir and it should vacate that is what UN resolution of 1948 says."

Local elections after 20 years give a ray of hope to Nepal residents

Kathmandu, Nepal, March 07 (ANI): After a period of 20 years, Nepal is going to witness the local polls and people of Nepal have positive feeling regarding the commencement of local elections in their country. They believe that it will help in development of the country. Elections were once a distant dream for Nepal due to Monarchical rule and political instability. A total of 81 parties have registered their name with the Election Commission and six parties of United Madheshi Democratic Front (UDMF) have refused to participate in the local elections, demanding constitutional amendment. Only the Federal Democratic Forum led by Upendra Yadav has registered its name for the upcoming elections. Sikh community in Washington raises concern over rise in hate crimes

Nepal local elections: Election Commission introduces Code of Conduct

Kathmandu (Nepal) Mar 03 (ANI): The Election Commission has enforced its code of conduct from Wednesday, days after the announcement of an election plan that, among other things, aims to conduct local level elections around mid-May. The code bars the government from transferring, promoting or appointing employees civil servants during elections.It also disallows introduction of new programmes in the name of development, transfer of funds and fresh allotment of funds. The code will be applicable to candidates from April.
