PoK, December 20, 2016:- Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, the nationalist leader of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir has claimed that Pakistan amended its constitution in 1974 which altered the status of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as a base camp. Shaukat claims that what Pakistan particularly meant from the base camp tag is that Pakistan occupied Kashmir is a base camp for training terrorist who would launch attacks in the neighboring territory.
Ankara, Turkey, Dec 20 (ANI): According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was killed by a gunman at an art exhibition in Ankara on Monday. Karlov was shot as he was speaking at the opening of a photographic art exhibition titled 'Russia through Turks' eyes'. According to witness at the site, the gunman suddenly rushed behind Karlov and shot, and then Karlov fell to the ground. According to witnesses, the gunman also shot at spectators at the site. The gunman was shot dead at the scene and identified as 22-year-old Turkish police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas, who had been on duty for two-and-a-half years at the riot police unit in Ankara. Karlov was sent to hospital but died despite emergency rescue efforts.
Berlin, Dec 20 (ANI): Several countries in Europe have sounded an alert after a Pakistan-origin hardliner hijacked a truck and ran over several people in Berlin, Germany. The truck driver ploughed his vehicle into a Christmas market, killing 12 persons and injuring dozens of others, German media reported. German authorities said that the suspect was arrested two kilometers away from the spot where he committed mayhem and is now being interrogated. Security sources were quoted by media as also saying that the man behind the wheel was an asylum seeker from Pakistan who arrived in Germany in February. The truck, police said was registered in Poland.
New York, Dec 20 (ANI): India's Permanent Representative to UN Syed Akbaruddin on Tuesday said that it is apparent that efforts to build infrastructure in Afghanistan is being bombarded by perpetrators of violence from outside the country. Stating that sustainable peace to Afghanistan could be brought only if groups perpetrating violence are denied safe havens in Afghan's neighbourhood, Akbaruddin said, that there is a need to address the support to terrorist organisations like Taliban, Al-Qaeda and its designated affiliates like LeT and JeM which operate outside the fabric of international law and draw shadowy supporters outside Afghanistan.
Birgunj, Nepal, Dec 19 (ANI): The leaders of Terai-Madhesh Democratic Party on Monday reiterated the need for amendment in Nepal's constitution before the polls take place.The leaders said that their party will let the elections take place only if the Government brings changes as per the Madhes residents. The party warned that a chaos will follow if the Government will not do so. The party's reaction has come up after the Madhes community has been protesting accusing the Government of denying them basic rights.

Nepali men and women in large numbers were seen standing in long queues outside the Birgunj branch of Nepal Rashtra Bank to withdraw Indian currency notes. People across Birgunj can withdraw Rs. 2,000 fortnightly after India scrapped old notes of Rs. 500 and 1000. Ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced scrapping of notes in November, Nepal's economy has witnessed a downfall and the inflow of tourists has also come down.
Kathmandu, Nepal, Dec 14 (ANI): In the latest development, the major three parties in Nepal have agreed to hold elections in order to implement the new Constitution. The Madhes-based political parties, however, have not made their stand clear. The decision was taken up during a meeting called by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday. As per the Constitutional mandate, Nepal is scheduled to hold elections by February 2018.

Toronto/South Korea, Dec 12 (ANI): Members of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Baloch Students Organisations (BSO-Azad) and Baloch Republican Students Organisation (BRSO) jointly staged protests against Pakistans atrocities on the Baloch people. The protests were held in South Korea and Toronto in Canada on the occasion of Human Rights Day on December 10. Carrying placards and raising slogans against pakistan, the protesters demanded that the Baloch people should be allowed to exercise their rights. These protests were part of a series of demonstrations staged by Baloch people across the globe. Prominent baloch leaders have come forward to raise their voices after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the plight of Baloch natives earlier this year.
Birgunj, Nepal, Dec 12 (ANI): A number of Muslim residents across Nepal's Birgunj took out a religious procession to observe Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi today. The religious rally, which began from Clock Tower passed from the town and concluded at the tower itself. On this day, Muslims across the globe offer namaaz and take part in ritualistic customs in memory of their religious icon. Sardar Raees Inqlabi said Pakistan is killers and murderers, you pay them one crore rupees and turn them into a bomb and make them cross LoC, which is the main reason of tension. Tatrinote (PoK), Dec 10 (ANI): Anti-Pakistan protests erupted as Kashmiris complained of human rights violations by Islamabad on the people living along the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan police and paramilitary forces brutally assaulted leaders and activists of the Peace Committee, a coalition of progressive and nationalist organisations in PoK. The Peace Committee was protesting against the activities of Jihadi groups in the area and when they refused to stop their sloganeering and March, they were thrashed by the security personnel. Several people participating were severely injured after they were baton charged and hit by tear gas shells. The police and the paramilitary personnel also stopped the demonstrators from approaching the Line of Control (LoC).
