India opting out of Indus Waters treaty would be 'act of war': Sartaj Aziz

Islamabad, Sep 27 (ANI): Pakistan would treat it as "an act of war" if India revoked the Indus Water Treaty regulating river flows between the two nations, Pakistan's top foreign ministry official said on Tuesday, amid escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours. India has been seeking ways to punish Islamabad after 18 soldiers in the Kashmir region were killed in an attack. India on Tuesday said it summoned the Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi and informed him about the arrest of two men it alleges helped the gunmen illegally cross the disputed border before their attack.

Clinton tears into Trump for not releasing his tax returns

Hempstead, New York, Sep 27 (ANI): United States Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton criticized Donald Trump for not releasing his tax returns and said that his decision raised questions about whether he was as rich and charitable as he claimed to be.She added that the few years of returns he had released showed that despite his wealth, he paid no federal income tax. Clinton criticized Trump for failing to pay some of the business people with whom his company had contracted. In response, Trump said that such incidents of non-payment had taken place when the work was unsatisfactory.

New York, Sep 27 (ANI): In a clear cut and sharp response to Pakistan at the United Nations, India's First Secretary Eenam Gambhir made it clear that Kashmir belonged to India and there are no ifs and buts to this. Gambhir firstly questioned Pakistan if they could confirm that they did not use terrorist proxies and further asked if the representative of Pakistan could deny that its armed forces have used air strikes and artillery against its own people repeatedly. India's First Secretary in Permanent Mission of India to UN also questioned and asked for an explanation as to why Pakistan's civil society is being silenced by plethora of heavily armed militias. Gambhir also went on to state Pakistan as a dysfunctional state which rains atrocities on people and then preaches about values of democracy and human rights.

Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 27 (ANI): Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, Chairman of the United Kashmir People National Party Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, raised the issue of Kashmir saying that India has a locus standi on Kashmir. He described in detail the history behind how Kashmir rulers wanted to keep Kashmir free and had a standstill agreement with Pakistan as well as India. He said that Pakistan needed to comply with the resolutions it signed regarding Kashmir stating that it never did. Shaukat Ali added that India has a legal stand regarding Kashmir and that terrorism is not a solution and called on Pakistan to step forward and review its policies.

Sacked 'Coronation Street' star Marc Anwar blames 'moment of madness' for vitriolic abuse of Indians

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Sacked Coronation Street star Marc Anwar has apologised for using "unacceptable" language about Indians, saying that his "rant" took place in a "moment of madness". He also maintained that his tweets were borne out of anger at attacks on Kashmir and that his feelings for Pakistani people caught up in the conflict are 'sincere'. The Pakistan-born actor, who plays Sharif Nazir in 'Corrie', was earlier axed from the ITV soap after Coronation Street bosses were alerted to his Twitter comments. On Friday 23rd September, the British-Pakistani actor posted a number of offensive tweets referring Indians as killers and suggested on Twitter that Pakistanis should refuse to work in India. The tweets, however has been deleted from his account.

She added that tragically, less than 15 days ago, another attempt at killing innocents was made through an act of terror in this same city. She further said she could feel the pain as India lost its 18 soldiers that in the recent Uri attack. EAM Swaraj bats for Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism, expansion in UN Security Council

New York, Sep 26 (ANI): Asserting that there is a lack of international standard for punishing the terrorists, Union External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj on Monday pitched for the need for passing the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) at the earliest. The EAM further said that the temporary and permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council should be expanded. Launched in 1996 by India, the CCIT provides a legal framework that makes it binding on all signatories to deny funds and safe havens to terrorist groups. Currently, the CCIT draft is being discussed at the sixth ad hoc committee of the United Nations. The External Affairs Minister was addressing a gathering at the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
