All SCO member countries have come to consensus on statement against terrorism: Joint Secretary MEA

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Jun 14 (ANI): Joint Secretary in Union ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and National Coordinator (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat on Friday briefed the media at the SCO summit. She said that all member countries of SCO have come to a consensus on a statement against terrorism. "consensus of all the countries which are coming out with a joint declaration. It is a strong statement endorsed by all the member countries," she added.

Baloch activists urges Londoners to 'Help end' human rights abuses in Pakistan through Reverse Graffiti

London (United Kingdom), Jun 14 (ANI): Baloch activists organized Reverse Graffiti in various spots around the city centre in London on Thursday. It read 'Help End Enforced Disappearances in Pakistan' to highlight the dire human rights situation in Pakistan. This came as part of a human rights awareness campaign recently jointly initiated by the World Baloch Organisation (WBO) and Baloch Republican Party (BRP). Activists used high pressure washers and stencils to render their messages. They tagged pavements in front of popular tourist spots such Oxford Street, Piccadilly circus, Marble arch, London Bridge and outside BBC headquarters. The campaign focused on the dire human rights situation of the Baloch ,Sindhi, Pashtun, Mohajir and other minorities in the country, urging for the end of killings, torture and particularly enforced disappearances by the Pakistani establishment in the region

Xi Jinping likely to visit India this year for informal summit: MEA

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Jun 13 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, the former invited the Chinese leader for a Wuhan-like informal summit to India later this year for which Jinping expressed his "readiness", Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters in Kyrgyzstan capital. "Prime Minister welcomed him (Xi Jinping) to India for next informal summit. President Xi Jinping confirmed his readiness to visit India this year," said Vijay Gokhale, Foreign Secretary, MEA. Hong Kong: 5,000 personnel deployed as protests against extradition bill intensify

New Delhi, Jun 12 (ANI): 5,000 police personnel in anti-riot gear have sealed all entrances of the Hong Kong's Legislative Council building, around which the protests are being held. Swathes of protesters took to the streets of Hong Kong continuing demonstrations against a controversial extradition bill which would allow criminal suspects in the city to be sent to mainland China for trial. The demonstrators have blocked roads around the complex and have erected barriers to hamper the arrival of additional policemen, according to CNN. Critics believe that the bill will leave anyone on Hong Kong soil vulnerable to being grabbed by the Chinese authorities for political reasons or inadvertent business offences, according to Al Jazeera.

Baloch organisations hold joint campaign in London against enforced disappearances

London (England), Jun 10 (ANI): The World Baloch Organization (WBO) and the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) have jointly launched a human rights awareness campaign in London. The groups aim to highlight the "dire human rights situation in Pakistan," particularly the human rights abuses faced by the ethnic Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun, Mohajir and religious minorities in the country through the campaign. The campaign will focus on the issue of enforced disappearances in Pakistan, where thousands have been forcibly abducted by Pakistan's military and its intelligence agencies. East London, June 10 (ANI): Fire breaks out at Samuel Garside house by riverside barking in East London. Cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
