New Delhi, May 08 (ANI): China and Japan will hold their 11th round of high-level talks on maritime affairs in Japan's Otaru city on May 10 and 11. Making the announcement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said that officials from foreign ministries, defence ministries, maritime law enforcement and management departments of the two counties will participate in the negotiations. "China expects to fully exchange views with Japan on maritime issues of common concern to strengthen mutual understanding and trust with Japan," Xinhua News Agency quoted Geng, as saying. The China-Japan high-level consultations on maritime affairs were established in 2012. It aims at strengthening maritime cooperation and to resolve marine issues between the two nations. The last round of talks was held in China's Wuzhen city in December last year. >

Myanmar, May 07 (ANI): Two Reuters' journalists who were jailed in Myanmar for breaking the Official Secrets Act have been freed on Tuesday after spending more than 500 days behind the bars. Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were convicted in September and sentenced to seven years of jail, reported Al Jazeera. The duo was among the 6,250 prisoners who were pardoned by Myanmar President Win Myint. It is customary of the Myanmar authorities to free prisoners during their traditional New Year, which began on April 17. Two Reuters' journalists were detained in December 2017 while they were investigating the Rohingya crisis in the Rakhine state of Myanmar. They were sentenced to seven years each in jail by a Yangon court for the breach of OSA. However, the accused journalists maintained that neither of them had done anything wrong. Their conviction attracted a lot of flak for the Myanmar government. It raised questions over Myanmar's progress toward democracy.

Athens (Greece), May 06 (ANI): The Greece chapter of the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) organised a protest in Greece's Athens. The protest held against the issue of abductions of Baloch women and children during Pakistani military operations in Balochistan. The operations allegedly took place in Balochistan's Mashkai, Awaran and Nasirabad. Bagh, PoK, April 23, 2019:- The Women University of Bagh in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir has been brought to a standstill as students are protesting against its administration for monetarily exploiting them at the pretext of providing them higher education while keeping them bereft of even fundamental needs for the degree. They shouted anti-university and anti-government slogans and sought for an immediate action into their grievances. They accused the administration of enrolling them despite having an acute shortage of faculty. The situation is so grave that there are only one- two teachers assigned for the entire syllabus. In spite of all this, the students had come to terms with the gross injustice being meted out to them and adjusted with the limited faculty. However, the administration cited different reasons and got rid of them. Students say they won't budge from their position until the faculty is brought back.
Colombo (Sri Lanka), Apr 23 (ANI): The CCTV footage of the suspected suicide bomber was caught in Colombo. He was carrying a backpack and walked into St Sebastian church on Easter Sunday. Around 290 people died and 500 got injured in a series of blasts that took place in Sri Lanka on April 21. These severe blasts occurred in churches and luxury hotels on the occasion of Easter. The last two of the total eight blasts were suicide bombings, which took place when security personnel were about to arrest suspects.
