Casio produces eco-friendly projectors

Bangkok (Thailand), Apr 18 (ANI): Projectors have been used in classes for long time as an indispensable educational tool to learn more efficiently and extensively. The technology used in projector before was based on normal light bulb, but now LED is being used. "Assumption University" in Bangkok is one of the leading universities in the study of natural environment. Most of the classrooms now use LED projectors manufactured by Casio. CASIO was the first manufacturer that developed mercury zero in all projectors. Casio's own projector evolved to "Laser and LED Hybrid light source" with excellent environmental and economic operability. People in PoK suffering as religious extremism has taken over discourse: Shaukat Ali Kashmiri

PoK, April 16, 2019:- Radicalism and extremism are the fundamental characteristics of Pakistan which it has been trying to perpetuate across the country, especially in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir for decades now. It has not just used religion-driven terrorism as an instrument of state policy to subvert peace and harmony in states across its borders but also to suppress people of PoK. The land over which the people of PoK have their prerogative is brazenly being used to establish and proliferate terror camps. Exiled Kashmiri leaders say that current situation in Pakistan is a result of religious fundamentalists grabbing control of country's political discourse.

Blaze under control at Notre Dame Cathedral

Paris (France), Apr 16 (ANI): Roaring blaze burst quickly through the roof of the centuries-old Notre Dame Cathedral in France capital Paris. The fire was so intense that it quickly engulfed the spire followed by the entire roof. It took around 400 firefighters to douse the flames, indicating the magnitude of fire. Because of the centuries-old wooden roof beams, stone exterior of Gothic architecture made it difficult for the firefighters to douse the massive fire. The spire and most of the roof of the centuries-old cathedral have been destroyed, but the two bell towers and the main edifice were saved. French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged that the country will rebuild the iconic structure. The Notre-Dame is both a religious and tourist place, attracting around 13 million visitors every year.

Massive blaze at Notre-Dame Cathedral contained by 400 firefighters

New Delhi, Apr 16 (ANI): A major fire engulfed the centuries old Notre-Dame Cathedral on Monday in the French capital Paris, destroying the wooden roof structure of the 850-year-old monument. It took around 400 firefighters to douse the flames, indicating the magnitude of fire. French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged that the country will rebuild the iconic structure. The Notre-Dame is both a religious and tourist place, attracting around 13 million visitors every year.

Sindhi women hold protest in London against forced conversion of Hindu girls in Pakistan

London (UK), Apr 14 (ANI): A group of Sindhi women gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in United Kingdom's London to protest against forced conversion of Hindu girls by Muslims in Pakistan. The protest was held by International Sindhi Women Organisation (ISWO). During the protest, the protestors raised slogans against the injustice and against the perpetrators. "The state and it's all institutions have intentionally failed to protect religious minorities", said Dr Rubina Sheikh, a protestor and chairperson of World Sindhi Congress. She added, "The state is systematically and strategically supporting this practice and spread of violent religious extremism. The perpetrators carry it without any impunity with their patronage". Indo-Nepal petro pipeline work near completion

Birgunj (Nepal) Apr 11 (ANI): The pipe-laying work of the Indo-Nepal trans-border pipeline project is near completion with about 90 percent work completed and test supply expected to be done by mid May. The 70-kilomtere-long pipeline stretches from Amlekhganj in Nepal to Motihari in India. Only about 8 Kilometers pipeline inside the Parsa National Park lies incomplete on which the work is being done on a swift pace after getting go-ahead from the forest department. The first petroleum pipeline in Parsa is jointly constructed by Indian and Nepali government. The trans-border pipeline stretches 24 kilometers on Nepal side and has been taken forward as a "Mega Project".Indian Oil Corporation has been funding the major cost of the petroleum pipeline construction. The pipe being laid has the capacity of supplying 200,000 litres of fuel on an hourly basis. India builds Maternity Hospital in Nepal's Siraha

Siraha (Nepal), April 10 (ANI): Ambassador of India to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri inaugurated Chandra Narayan Yadav Memorial Maternity Hospital in Siraha District of Nepal on Wednesday. Nepali Congress Central Committee Member, Treasurer and Chairman of Chandra Narayan Memorial Trust Sita Devi Yadav attended the inauguration ceremony along with other dignitaries that included politicians from Nepal, community leaders and a large number of friends of the India-Nepal relationship. The 25-bed maternity Hospital, built with Government of India's grant of Rs. 26.90 million, is equipped with latest medical equipments. Baloch, Pashtuns stage protest against atrocities by Pakistan govt in Washington DC

Washington DC (USA), Apr 08 (ANI): The Mohajirs, Baloch, Gilgit-Baltistanis, Pashtuns and members of other religious minorities protested outside The White House in US's Washington DC on Sunday. They have protested against the exploitation and oppression of minorities by Pakistan government. Protestors also chanted anti-Pakistan slogans. Locals protest against crumbling health care system in PoK

Palandri (PoK), Apr 06 (ANI): A large number of protesters took to the streets of Palandari region in Pakistan occupied Kashmir after the law enforcement agencies arrested few youth for raising their voice against the apathy and discrimination of the government. They were falsely implicated after they carried out a demonstration against the administration in the aftermath of death of a local owing to doctors' negligence and absence of an adequate healthcare system in the region. People shouted anti-government slogans and sought an immediate release of arrested youths. Local leaders demanded the administration to expeditiously deliver justice. They also warned authorities with consequences if it continued with oppressive measures.

Indian Embassy gives a helping hand to victims of Nepal rainstorm

Birgunj (Nepal), Apr 04 (ANI): The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu came forward with a helping hand to the people of Nepal who are devastated by one of the worst rainstorms in the country, where more than 30 have been killed and over 600 have been injured. Golden Temple goes green to tackle pollution

Amritsar (Punjab), April 03: A plantation drive has been carried out at the holiest shrine of Sikhism, the Golden temple to maintain greenery in the area and keep a check on pollution. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex body of the Sikh shrine, planted flower pots and plants on the terrace of buildings in the shrine complex. A vertical garden with around 35,000 plants in the complex was also setup to make the environment cleaner and prevent pollutants from causing any harm to the shrine. Devotees visiting the holy shrine were pleased to see the greenery and they appreciated the environment friendly steps taken by the authorities to add to the beauty of the place.
