President Kovind receives highest state honour of Bolivia by President Evo Morales

Sucre (Bolivia), Mar 30 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind received the highest state honour of Bolivia-Condor de los Andes en el Grado de Gran Collar from President Evo Morales, in Sucre. India and Bolivia on Friday also signed eight agreements (MoUs) in diverse sectors including space and medicine. President Kovind is on his second leg of three-nation tour of Croatia, Bolivia and Chile.

Nepal: Students in Kathmandu protest over exam cancellation

Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 30 (ANI): Student in Nepal's capital hit the streets to protest after their exams got cancelled on Friday. Reportedly, the question paper of Social Studies which was scheduled to be held on Friday was leaked on Thursday evening which promoted the authorities to cancel the exam. Meanwhile, a preliminary investigation carried out by the government has pointed out the Center's involvement in the accident.

Prez Kovind addresses at Bolivia-India Business Forum

Santa Cruz (Bolivia), Mar 30 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind attended and addressed Bolivia- India Business Forum in Santa Cruz, Bolivia today. Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi's bail plea rejected

London (United Kingdom), Mar 30 (ANI): Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi's bail plea was rejected by the Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday (local time). The next hearing is scheduled for April 26. This is the second time that Nirav Modi's bail plea has been rejected. His first request was turned down on March 20. Judge Marie Mallon had cited the "high value of amount involved in the allegations" as the reason behind the rejection of his first bail plea. During the hearing, Toby Chadman, who is representing the Crown prosecution on behalf of the Indian authorities argued that Nirav Modi may destroy evidence and try to bribe and threaten potential witnesses if granted bail. Cadman said that considering the scale of the fraud and the likely sentence that Nirav Modi would face, the fugitive businessman should not be granted bail. Indian Foreign Secretary discusses bilateral relation, terrorism during his Nepal visit

Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 28 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale arrived in Nepal's capital for two-day visit on March 27. He held bilateral talks with his Nepalese counterpart Shanker Das Bairagi in Kathmandu on Thursday. The two Foreign Secretaries discussed the bilateral ties between both the countries. During the visit, the foreign secretary met with Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Govt school in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon operating from hut for years

Kondagaon (Chhattisgarh), Mar 27 (ANI): The condition of a government school in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon is so worse that the classes are being conducted in a hut, that is on the verge of collapsing, for years. After RJP-N, FSF-N warns to quit Oli Government in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 25 (ANI): After Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal withdrew its support from the incumbent government of Nepal, another party, Federal Socialist Forum- Nepal, has warned of stepping down if the promised agreements are not fulfilled. Addressing the last parliamentary session of the Lower House of Nepal, FSF-N MP Rajendra Prasad Shrestha warned of walking out from the KP Oli-led government if the demands are not met. FSF-N, which was also the member of the Federal Alliance, had come to the streets during the 2015 protest against the newly promulgated constitution of Nepal. Later after the split of the Federal Alliance, the party isolated from the disgruntled parties under the Federal Alliance and it is now on board the KP Sharma Oli-led government. The RJP-N on 10th March had formally withdrawn its support to the KP Sharma Oli Government after its demands were not met.

Israel rocket attack: IDF retaliates with strikes on Hamas targets in Gaza

Gaza, Mar 26 (ANI): The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) carried out strikes on Hamas targets after the latter launched a rocket in Tel Aviv which had hit a house and as result injured seven people. Gaza's health ministry said that seven people were injured in the strikes. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in the United States, will cut short his visit amid the new security challenge.

Thai elections: Prayut poised to continue as PM

New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): The pro-regime Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), who fielded military junta leader Prayut Chan-o-cha as its Prime Ministerial candidate, is poised to win the 2019 general elections here as of Sunday night, as per unofficial results from the Election Commission. Around 92 per cent of the votes had been counted by Sunday night, in which the PPRP led with 7.5 million votes, followed by Pheu Thai with 7 million votes, reports Bangkok Post. Many analysts speculate that Prayut will be able to stake enough votes to continue as the Prime Minister. He came into power after leading a coup against Pheu Thai Party's government - led by Yingluck Shinawatra - in 2014, following which a new constitution was written by the military junta.
