China believes 'Pakistan always opposed to terrorism'

Wuzhen (China), Feb 27 (ANI): China on Wednesday said that it believes that Pakistan has "always been opposed" to terrorism and that both India and Pakistan should exercise restraint and avoid escalation of the situation. "Russia, China and India reaffirmed strong opposition to terrorism. At same time we (China) believe Pakistan has always been opposed to terrorism. China appreciates statements from Indian and Pakistan friends saying they will exercise restraint and avoid escalation of situation." Wang Yi, China's Foreign Minister said at the RIC (Russia-India-China) forum.

Terror outfits like JeM part of Pakistan's 'security apparatus': Sindhi Political Activist

London, Feb 27 (ANI): As India conducted air strikes in Pakistan's Balakot to destroy the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), World Sindhi Congress said it is important for the world to understand that terror outfits like JeM are not "proxies" of Pakistan and rather are a part of the country's "security apparatus". "It is really important for us and the world to understand that these extremist outfits which we call proxies of Pakistan. They are not proxies. They are part of Pakistan's security apparatus," said Lakhu Luhana, General Secretary of World Sindhi Congress.

Objective of IAF strike was to act decisively against terrorist infrastructure of JeM: Sushma Swaraj

Wuzhen (China), Feb 27 (ANI): Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday said that the strike carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) was to act decisively against terrorist infrastructure of JeM. Speaking during the 16th Foreign Ministers Meeting of Russia-India-China (RIC) in China's Wuzhen, Swaraj said, "Following the Pulwama terrorist attack, Pakistan denied any knowledge of the attack and out rightly dismissed claims by JeM. In the light of continued refusal of Pakistan to acknowledge and act against terror groups on its territory and based on credible information that JeM was planning other attacks in various parts of India, the government of India decided to take pre-emptive action. It wasn't a military operation, no military installation were targeted. The limited objective of the pre-emptive strike was to act decisively against terrorist infrastructure of JeM to pre-empt another terror attack

Trump, Kim likely to hold joint press conference during Hanoi Summit

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong-un are expected to address a joint press conference after the much-anticipated second summit between Washington and Pyongyang, reports Yonhap News Agency. The second summit, slated to be held in Hanoi on February 27 and 28, comes after the first landmark US-North Korea summit was held in Singapore in June last year. North Korea had agreed to completely denuclearise during the first meeting - a move which was hailed as a major stride by the international community. The United States has, until now, reinforced that relief in sanctions would only be given after North Korea carries out complete denuclearisation.Both the sides aim at working towards the concretisation of steps for a peaceful Korean Peninsula, including complete denuclearisation, when Kim sits down with Trump in Hanoi this week.

This incident took place on February 14 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. Scores of angry US-based Indians protest against Pulwama terror attack in New York

New York (United States), Feb 23 (ANI): More than hundred United States (US)-based Indians protested outside the Pakistan consulate in New York against Pulwama terror attack on Friday. This attack was carried out by Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) on February 14 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. President Moon strongly condemned Pulwama attack: MEA

Seoul (South Korea), Feb 22 (ANI): South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Seoul, "strongly condemned" the Pulwama attack and labeled it as terrorist attack, Ministry of External Affairs said in the South Korean capital. "There was an exchange of views between PM Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on global and regional situations. President Moon Jae-in strongly condemned the Pulwama attack as a terrorist attack," said Vijay Thakur Singh, Secretary (East), MEA. Besides the two leaders taking up the agenda forward against terrorism, trade between India and South Korea was also discussed during PM Modi's visit, and both the countries has set the bilateral trade target to $50 billion from current $21 billion. "India and South Korea bilateral trade is at 21 Billion and the target that has been set is 50 Billion by the year 2030," Thakur said.
