Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 28 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale arrived in Nepal's capital for two-day visit on March 27. He held bilateral talks with his Nepalese counterpart Shanker Das Bairagi in Kathmandu on Thursday. The two Foreign Secretaries discussed the bilateral ties between both the countries. During the visit, the foreign secretary met with Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The foreign secretary is in the Himalayan nation to review the progress made in the ongoing India-aided projects in Nepal. Gokhale's visit to Nepal comes a day before the Nepal Investment Summit 2019. In the wake of last month's terror attack in Pulwama, the two sides also discussed ways to combat menace of terrorism.

President Kovind hailed the Indology Department of Zagreb University by saying that it has made outstanding contribution to the study and promotion of Indian languages, philosophy, history and culture in Croatia. Kondagaon (Chhattisgarh), Mar 27 (ANI): The condition of a government school in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon is so worse that the classes are being conducted in a hut, that is on the verge of collapsing, for years. Due to obvious drawbacks of a shack, the school remains closed during monsoon. The main MoUs were signed for cooperation in the field of tourism, cultural relations and various other topics. Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 25 (ANI): After Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal withdrew its support from the incumbent government of Nepal, another party, Federal Socialist Forum- Nepal, has warned of stepping down if the promised agreements are not fulfilled. Addressing the last parliamentary session of the Lower House of Nepal, FSF-N MP Rajendra Prasad Shrestha warned of walking out from the KP Oli-led government if the demands are not met. FSF-N, which was also the member of the Federal Alliance, had come to the streets during the 2015 protest against the newly promulgated constitution of Nepal. Later after the split of the Federal Alliance, the party isolated from the disgruntled parties under the Federal Alliance and it is now on board the KP Sharma Oli-led government. The RJP-N on 10th March had formally withdrawn its support to the KP Sharma Oli Government after its demands were not met.
Kathmandu (Nepal), Mar 26 (ANI): The government of Nepal and the government of Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in Nepal's Kathmandu on Monday. As per the memorandum, Nepali workers would get the status of 'Residence of Specified Skilled Workers' in Japan.
Gaza, Mar 26 (ANI): The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) carried out strikes on Hamas targets after the latter launched a rocket in Tel Aviv which had hit a house and as result injured seven people. Gaza's health ministry said that seven people were injured in the strikes. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in the United States, will cut short his visit amid the new security challenge.
New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): The pro-regime Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), who fielded military junta leader Prayut Chan-o-cha as its Prime Ministerial candidate, is poised to win the 2019 general elections here as of Sunday night, as per unofficial results from the Election Commission. Around 92 per cent of the votes had been counted by Sunday night, in which the PPRP led with 7.5 million votes, followed by Pheu Thai with 7 million votes, reports Bangkok Post. Many analysts speculate that Prayut will be able to stake enough votes to continue as the Prime Minister. He came into power after leading a coup against Pheu Thai Party's government - led by Yingluck Shinawatra - in 2014, following which a new constitution was written by the military junta.

The Lahore Resolution never mentioned Pakistan but had carried suggestions for giving autonomous state status to Muslim Majority provinces in undivided India and those provinces are still with India as its integrated parts.
Anandpur Sahib (Punjab), Mar 23: Sikh devotees celebrated the annual spring festival of 'Hola Mohalla' on Thursday with a display of sword fights and martial arts in Anandpur Sahib city in Punjab. Thousands of spectators, including foreign tourists, gathered at the Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib 'Gurudwara', a famous Sikh shrine, to see men display their bravery and skills in ancient warfare known as 'Gatka' and sword fighting in a colourful ceremony. Tourists were delighted to witness the festivities and they enjoyed being in Punjab on the occasion. Devotees also offered prayers at the holiest shrine of Sikhism, the Golden Temple in the evening to mark the occasion. The festival commemorates the transformation of Sikh community into a martial fraternity by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru (leader) of the Sikhs. It coincides with Holi, the Hindu festival of colours.
Christchurch (New Zealand), Mar 21 (ANI): New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced ban on weapons in the wake of shooting at twin mosques in Chirtchurch. She said, "New Zealand will ban all military style semi automatic weapons, we will also ban all assault rifles, all high capacity magazines and parts with the ability to convert firearms into a military-style semi-automatic weapon." Twin mosque terror attack in Christchurch killed 50 people. The gruesome act was carried out by gunman under a span of 36 minutes during the Friday prayers.
