New Delhi, Oct 23 (ANI): Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday officially inaugurated the world's longest sea crossing bridge, nine years after construction first began. The 55-kilometre (34-mile) crossing, which includes a snaking road bridge and underwater tunnel, links Hong Kong's Lantau island to Zhuhai and the gambling enclave of Macau, across the waters of the Pearl River Estuary. The mega bridge will open to traffic on Wednesday. The launch ceremony was hastily announced last week by mainland authorities with Hong Kong lawmakers and transport companies complaining they had been left in the dark.
London (UK), Oct 23 (ANI): A group of activists from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) led anti-Pakistan protest outside Pakistan High Commission in London to mark 'Black Day' on October 22. The protestors shouted slogans asking for 'azaadi' (freedom). They also shouted slogans shaming Pakistan for illegally occupying the region in 1947. The protesters held banners like "Is Azad Kashmir Really Azad?", "Abolish Act 74 and GB Order 2018" among others. Sajjad Raja, President of Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP), UK said, "We all have gathered here to protest against Pakistani invasion of Jammu and Kashmir on October 22, 1947. That was the conspiracy which still ongoing, which still continuing". They strongly demanded Pakistan-backed terror outfits including Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen to leave PoK territory.
New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Saturday confirmed that the US will be pulling out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), a nuclear deal signed between Washington and Moscow during the Cold War. "We're going to terminate the agreement and we're going to pull out. We'll have to develop those weapons," The Hill quoted Trump, as saying. Trump further claimed that Russia has been violating the treaty and has not adhered to the agreement. INF was signed in 1986 between former US president Ronald Reagan and Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev and allows the US to counter Chinese efforts to accumulate arms in the Pacific. It, however, prevents Washington from deploying new weapons in response. Kotli / Muzaffarabad, PoK, Oct 18 (ANI): People in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) continue to face troubles due to lack of competence by the local authorities. In Kotli city, the residents have protested against the doctors of District Headquarter Hospital Kotli against their negligence of treating a female patient. The protesters allege that doctors have removed one of women's uterus without any emergency and she was thrown out of the hospital without any medical treatment. Later, the protesters allege that doctors came in group and assaulted them. In Bagh district of PoK, education remains disrupted as teachers are on strike. The Bagh Teachers' Organisation in the leadership of Sardar Arif Shaheen carried out a protest rally to demand better pay scale. Kathmandu (Nepal), Oct 18 (ANI): About 75% of the Petroleum Pipeline, which is being jointly constructed by India and Nepal, has been completed according to the Nepal Oil Corporation. Sushil Bhattarai Acting Managing Director of the Nepal Oil Corporation said that third-fourth of the entire pipeline, which is the first transnational pipeline connecting India and Nepal, has already been constructed. The first petroleum pipeline, extending from India's Motihari to Amlekhganj in Parsa is being jointly constructed by Indian and Nepalese Governments. The pipeline is under construction as a joint investment project between India and Nepal with an investment of 3.2 Billion rupees by the Indian Government and 1.2 Billion rupees by the Nepalese Government. Members of Taliban delegation said that leaders from both sides have agreed to discuss all issues.
