Sofia (Bulgaria), Sep 06 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind visited National Museum of History (NMH) in Bulgaria's Sofia. He was accompanied by First Lady Savita Kovind. The National Museum of History was established on May 5, 1973. It is a national treasury of the Republic of Bulgaria, a reliquary store on a world scale and one of the largest historical museums on the Balkan Peninsula. The museum houses over 650,000 cultural monuments and a huge archeological and historical archive. The President is on a eight-day three-nation tour to Cyprus, Bulgaria and Czech Republic. On the last leg of the journey, President Kovind will visit the Czech Republic from September 6 to 9, where he will hold discussion on issues of mutual concern with Czech President Milos Zeman.

Sofia (Bulgaria), Sep 05 (ANI): Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) were signed between India and Bulgaria in presence of President Ram Nath Kovind and his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev in Sofia on Wednesday. The MoU signing was followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders. Earlier, President Kovind apprised the Indian community in Bulgaria of India's growth story, saying that the economy of the country is making steady progress.

UK extends support to NATO troops in Afghanistan

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): 100 Welsh Guards were added to the NATO troops in Afghanistan during United Kingdom (UK) Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson's visit to Kabul last week, UK's Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday. The troops are the first of the 440 additional personnel that will be deployed by the UK for the NATO forces. The addition will see the UK become the third largest contributor to troops in Afghanistan with 1,100 personnel, TOLO News reported. "We remain absolutely committed to building an Afghanistan that is a strong security partner for decades to come. A secure and stable Afghanistan helps keep the streets of the UK safe. Japan hit by strongest storm in 25 years

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): Japan on Tuesday was hit by Typhoon Jebi, the strongest and most powerful storm to hit the island country in 25 years, causing violent winds and disrupting transport services. Japan's Meteorological Agency issued a caution on torrential rains and an increase in speed of the strong winds in both the eastern and western parts of the country. Packing winds of up to 216km/h, Jebi is currently hovering near Anan city in Tokushima Prefecture. The storm also led to the cancellation of over 800 domestic and international flights and closure of tourist places in Japan.

Gilgit Baltistan, Sep 04: Gilgit's top political activist Baba Jan has recently been acquitted by the Hunza court in a case brought by Pakistan against him and yet the security services, led by the ISI, have refused to release him from jail. A case was filed against Baba Jan and his fellow activists for raising the issue of illegal allotment of marble mines in the Nasirabad valley of Hunza to Chinese companies. Fresh protests erupts in PoK's Gilgit for release of Baba Jan

Gilgit-Baltistan (PoK), Sep 03 (ANI): Fresh protests erupted in Pakistan occupied Kashmir's (PoK) Gilgit on Monday for the immediate release of political activist Baba Jan, who was recently acquitted but wasn't released from prison. Gilgit's top political activist Baba Jan has recently been acquitted by the Hunza Court in a case brought by Pakistan against him. 6 dead in Somalia car bombing

Mogadishu (Somalia), Sep 03 (ANI): At least six people died while 15 others were left injured in a car bombing incident in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu. The spokesperson for Mogadishu, Salah Hassan Omar said that the local government offices were the target of the bombing, CNN reported. Col Aden Dahir of the Somalia military said that at least three soldiers, who attempted to stop the vehicle, were among the deceased. The attack occurred at around 9 AM local time on September 2. Terrorist group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack through Andalus Radio, its media channel. The explosion wrecked a government building, while a mosque and several other buildings in the proximity were also damaged.
