Airtel plans to become top service-provider in UP (East)

Airtel is planning to extend its coverage in Uttar Pradesh (East) to towns and cities which have a population of 5,000 or more by March next year.
 
"We are currently positioned at number four, and aim to be the number one service provider in the UP (East) circle in the next two years," said , chief operating officer of Mobility, Bharti Airtel Ltd, UP (East), while talking to Business Standard.
 
Airtel has completed two years of successful operations in this circle. Within a short span of two years, the company has set up many milestones for the mobile population of the circle.
 
In accordance with Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI) figures, the company has seen an increase of over 36,000 customers from 929,679 in August to 966,442 customers in September.
 
"Customers in Uttar Pradesh should not be under estimated; they need the same services as are demanded by the consumers of A+ city across the country," said Prasad.
 
Airtel is the top value-added service (VAS) provider in UP (East). The company has focused on customer service through customer engagement programme such as ''.
