Zee launches kids edutainment channel ZeeQ

As a pay channel, it will be available on digital cable and direct-to-home platforms

With an aim to provide a platform for kids to learn, educate and entertain, Subhash Chandra- promoted Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) has announced the launch of ZeeQ.

The channel, which will go on-air on November 5, will be operated by Zee Learn Ltd, an 18-years old company that also runs a chain of pre-schools and K12 schools.

ZeeQ will target the 4-14 years old. As a pay channel, it will be available on digital cable and direct-to-home platforms.

While talking about the programming line up, Subhadarshi Tripathi, business head of the channel said, "We have acquired animated content for the 4-7 age group, most of which is Emmy Award winning content. While, for 7-14 year olds, we will have tailor-made locally produced content."

Punit Goenka, MD & CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd said, " ZEE as a group stands by its principle of improvement of human capital, and so is the initiative, ZeeQ."
