Emami notched up volume of 5.29 lakh shares by 13:13 IST on BSE, a 64.37-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock rose 2.42% to Rs 614, after a block deal of 4.85 lakh shares was executed on BSE at Rs 603 per share at 09:16 IST. The block deal constitutes 0.32% of Emami's equity.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) saw volume of 4.64 lakh shares, a 21.58-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 21,000 shares. The stock rose 0.89% to Rs 265.80, after two block deals aggregating 4.35 lakh shares were executed on BSE at Rs 264.50 per share.

A block deal of 3.10 lakh shares was executed on IOC counter at 10:12 IST at Rs 264.50 per share. Another block deal of 1.25 lakh shares was executed at 10:15 IST at Rs 264.50 per share. The block deals constitute 0.01% of IOC's equity.

Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) clocked volume of 8.68 lakh shares, a 10.29-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 84,000 shares. The stock rose 1.05% to Rs 62.50.

Torrent Power notched up volume of 15.98 lakh shares, a 10.03-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.59 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.21% to Rs 172.05.

National Buildings Construction Corporation notched up volume of 7.44 lakh shares, a 9.04-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 82,000 shares. The stock jumped 8.71% to Rs 164.05. The stock hit a record high of Rs 169 in the intraday trade today, 7 December 2012.
