'Mastermind' of several bomb attacks in Lahore arrested

Qari Azmat, the alleged mastermind of bomb attacks at Moon Market, R A Bazar, Babu Sabu and Jamia Naeemia that killed scores of people, was arrested during a joint operation conducted on the outskirts of Lahore by police and intelligence agencies, a senior police officer said.

The officer, who did not want to be named, said: "Qari Azam has been shifted to an undisclosed place for questioning."

He said law enforcement agencies had been looking for Azam after another accused revealed his name.
