Peacocks found dead in farm

In a suspected case of poisoning, a large number of peacocks were found dead in a farm on the city outskirts tonight.

At least 17 peacocks were found dead in the farm and a few others in a nearby well in Kovaipudur by the locals who informed police.

Rice was seen strewn around in the farm with local residents suspecting that it could be a case of poisoning since the birds cause damage to crops, police added.
