Mahadiscom sets up complaints cell at Pune

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (Mahadiscom), a distribution company carved out of the erstwhile Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB), has set up its first exclusive cell for high tension (HT) customers at Ganeshkhind circle in Pune division.
 
This cell seeks to reduce the bill-related complaints of high tension customers. The company plans to install automatic reading facility for nearly 1,300 customers of the Ganeshkhind circle, said a Mahadiscom spokesman.
 
The fully computerised cell will help industries in getting bill-related information on-line and they can register their complaints through e-mails, added a Mahadiscom spokesman.
 
He further said that automatic meter reading facility would be installed very soon at the cell and the meters would be connected via GSM and modem installed at the cell which will help Discom officials get the readings in their offices itself.
 
He pointed out that this would help Discom to monitor the demand pattern of the industry and also curb malpractices involved in meter reading.
