PGA Tour stops
DIVOTS

The PGA National, close to Mirasol, the host venue for The Honda Classic, could soon become one of the regular stops on the PGA Tour. The PGA National is also high on the Honda Classic's list of venues even though it has an agreement to play at Mirasol till 2006.
Honda Classic is willing to move earlier if it can find a suitable course and agree upon a long-term deal.
Unlike some of the previous Honda stops, the PGA National is a well-known course and has held the 1983 Ryder Cup and the 1987 PGA Championships. It may soon join a select band of PGA Tour courses like Pebble Beach, Riviera, Firestone and Colonial that have held Majors in the past.
Swinging ahead
Michelle Wie is a teenager who prefers to divide her time between school and the LPGA Tour where she has been playing on invites. While critics say that she should be playing with golfers her age in the juniors events, she herself thinks otherwise.
Recently, she tied for sixth at the Wendy's Championships in Ohio. This year, she finished in the top 20 in five out of six LPGA events. With that kind of record, it is unlikely that the talented youngster would want to play with her peers.
On the campaign trail
Ben Crenshaw has taken his friendship with President George Bush to a new level. Crenshaw is a Bush "Pioneer," a title granted to those who have raised at least $100,000 for the President.
Crenshaw, who invited Bush "" then the Texas governor "" to speak to the Ryder Cup team on the eve of the Americans' record comeback in 1999 at Brookline, is campaigning again for Bush, who is likely to run for a second term.
Haas in Seniors Tour
While many players are preparing for the Ryder Cup by either going to the TPC at Boston for the Deutsche Bank Championships or to Glen Abbey for the Canadian Open, 50-year-old Jay Haas is likely to opt for Pebble Beach for a Seniors Tour event, the First Tee Open.
| It will be his first appearance on the Seniors Tour. Haas is 23rd on the Money List on the PGA Tour. He is already in the Tour Championships and in a couple of Majors next season.
