Singapore Tourism Board, Zak sign pact

The Singapore Tourism Board and Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding for organising trade fairs in Singapore.
As part of this initiative, Zak plans to organise at least four major annual trade fairs in Singapore for the next three years.
It will be holding the first trade fair called Salaam India, a 5-day trade fair to promote India's consumer and industrial products, during August 15-19, 2007. The fair will also have cultural programmes which will present India at its best for visitors from the region.
The other trade fairs would be Zak Glasstech, Zak Fenestration Expo and Zak Bearings Expo, all for promoting the respective trade in South East Asia, according to a company statement.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Zak have been exploring the possibility of Zak expanding into Singapore to organise trade fairs and exhibitions under the STB's new 'BE in Singapore' incentive scheme launched in India last month.
Chennai-based Zak Trade Fairs has so far organised over 200 trade fairs/exhibitions all over India and also in Singapore, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE and USA.
