Tatra To Manufacture Trucks In India

Tatra trucks are built on a unique backbone chassis which consists of a central tube completely enclosing the power line elements with individual swinging half axles on either side. Due to this unique chassis construction, Tatra trucks can move at any speed on any terrain and in any climatic condition. It ensures stability and comfortable driving when running on uneven roadways. Higher torsional and flexural rigidity of the chassis ensures high lateral stability at cornering, running on cross sloped roadways and lower stress on the chassis and superstructure. Since all the functional parts of the chassis are covered and the torque distribution system is protected by a central tube, the chassis is highly resistant to damage. Tatra trucks are also well known for their long service life, simple maintenance and high working output at interesting price levels.

 

Special defense models are already being manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Ltd who will continue to supply these vehicles to the Indian defence forces. The joint venture will address the needs of the civilian market in India and its neighbouring countries.
