Agro Tech net up 27.58%

Agro Tech Foods Ltd, an affiliate of global food major ConAgra Inc, reported a 27.58 per cent growth in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2007, at Rs 3.7 crore, compared with Rs 2.9 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.

Its total income stood at Rs 252.5 crore, as against Rs 281.3 crore, representing a decline of 10 per cent.

Segment-wise, the company's net sales of branded foods increased by 18 per cent to Rs 161.9 crore for the quarter under review, compared with Rs 137.3 crore during the same period last year, while net sales of sourcing and institutional business plummeted 37.2 per cent to Rs 90.6 crore, as against Rs 144.4 crore.
