Alstom T&D bags Rs 150-cr contract from Jaypee Group

To help jaypee Group build a thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh

Alstom T&D, a transmission and distribution arm of French firm Alstom, today said it has bagged a Rs 150 crore order from infrastructure company Jaypee Group for thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh.

"Alstom T&D has been awarded a contract worth Rs 150 crore by Jaypee Group for the 1,320 MW thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh," an Alstom T&D statement said.

The scope of work for Alstom T&D includes designing, manufacturing, supply, erection testing and commissioning generator transformers.

The transformers and reactors for this project would be manufactured at the company's Vadodra unit.

"We are very pleased to embark on this project with Jaypee Group and we look forward to supporting India with locally-manufactured products," said Rathin Basu, Managing Director of Alstom T&D.

Shares of Alstom T&D were trading at Rs 179.40, up 0.06% in afternoon trade on BSE.
