Anil Agarwal to become Vedanta chairman

Anil Agarwal, chief executive officer (CEO) of Vedanta Resources, will become the chairman of the company.

Kuldip Kaura, current chief operating officer, will take over as CEO.

An official release said the appointment of Agarwal as chairman will allow him to step back from operational management and focus on new projects.

Current chairman Michael Fowle and non-executive director
Jean-Pierre Rodier are to retire from the board, the release said.
