BASF India Q4 net profit up 67% at Rs 13 cr

Net sales rose to Rs 819 cr in the fourth quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 762 cr in the year-ago period

Leading chemical firm BASF India today posted 67% jump in its net profit at Rs 13.32 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013, on the back of strong sales.

The company had achieved a net profit of Rs 7.98 crore in the same quarter in the last fiscal.

Net sales rose to Rs 819.18 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 761.99 crore in the year-ago period, BASF India said in a filing to the BSE.     

During the 2012-13 financial year, the company's net profit increased by a little over 13% to Rs 114.08 crore from Rs 100.86 crore in the previous year.
 

Total revenues during the fiscal rose to Rs 3,940.63 crore from Rs 3,515.94 crore in 2011-12.

The company manufactures chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products.

Shares of the company were trading higher by 3.47% at Rs 585.95 at 14.45 hours on the BSE.
