Chamber plans games for corporates

BS Reporter Kolkata
In an attempt to help young professionals master the art of taking the right decision at the right time, Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry have organised an innovative round of 'management games' for corporates.

The event is being sponsored by DPSC. "A management game is a copy of a real business environment where participants are confronted with business issues and asked to take management decisions as well as see the effect of the decisions soon thereafter. This helps participants face the pains and advantages of running a company. The Chamber is organising the management games for fun and games but it is expected to help participants face challenges in real life even after this," said Somnath Goswami, deputy secretary, Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Participants include middle level corporates between 25 and 40 years of age from companies such as Exide, Thermax, Labvantage Solution , Hindalco, ABP, DPSC, Tata Tea, ITC Infotech, CESC, Tata Steel, Flakt, Tata Ryerson, Biecco Lawrie, Wigan and Leigh College.

"The participants' would be evaluated by the assessment software 'Chanakya' that is licensed to the All India Management Association. We are using it for 2 days to conduct our management games at a concessional rate," informed Goswami.
