DA for industrial workers in MP up by Rs 250 per mth

The state cabinet yesterday raised the dearness allowance (DA) of industrial workers by Rs 250 per month, for 36 scheduled industries. The raise is effective from April 1.

With this decision, industries will have to pay Rs 4,395 per month at Rs 169 per day to a non-skilled category worker. A semi-skilled worker will get Rs 4,525 per month, or Rs 174 per day and a skilled worker will get Rs 4,675 per month at Rs 180 per day.

Non-skilled workers employed in agri-sector will get Rs 3,576 per month or Rs 119 per day (including DA). The labour department today also issued orders pertaining to wages of workers employed in joss-stick manufacturing units. Accordingly, a labour will get Rs 12.3 for 1,000 joss-sticks and Rs 12.8 for incense sticks. These wages include variable dearness allowance and hence no worker will get it separately. Further, workers will get wages according to rules during their weekly off days or holidays.

 

State government has also fixed rates for tendu leaves’ collections. A standard sack of tendu leaves will fetch Rs 650 for the beneficiary.
