Dr Reddy's launches Alfoo

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has launched Alfuzosin Hydrochloride, indicated for treatment of signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), under the brand name 'Alfoo'. It is available in extended release tablets of 10 mg dosage.

Launched nationwide, Alfoo is expected to help Dr Reddy's consolidate its position in the urology segment where the company already has a strong brand presence. The market size for the product is estimated at Rs 27 crore.

According to a DRL press release, the product is now available in over 5,700 retail counters across the country, and is being marketed by a strong field force of over 100 scientific business officers.

Future plans of Alfoo include a complete patient information programme on prostate care using multimedia and print material.
