Gujarat Alkalies, Reliance bag FGI award

| Vadodara-based Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) honoured various industries and business entrepreneurs by recognising their excellence in economic, social and scientific areas on Monday. |
| Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals (GACL) of Dahej unit at Bharuch received FGI awards for excellence in the field of environment preservation and pollution control. Reliance Industries, Hazira was awarded for its energy conservation efforts. |
| The other industries that were awarded are Ankur Scientific Engergy Technologies for research in science and technology, Surat District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union for rural development, Arvind Mills for industrial relations, Rotary Eye Institute for social welfare, Hi-Tech Elastomers for best small scale unit while, outstanding entrepreneur award went to Bharat Chokshi of Grand Polycoats. |
| Yogendra Gangwal, president of FGI, said, "The FGI awards for excellence, instituted in 1993 by prime minister Manmohan Singh, signifys the need to recognise and encourage individuals and organisations that strive and achieve excellence in their respective field of operation." |
