HCC bags Rs 2729cr hydel project in J&K

Construction and infrastructure firm, Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) stated today that it has bagged a 330Mw hydroelectric project by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation valued at Rs 2,726.49 crore.
The project was bagged by the company in joint venture with the Halcrow Group of UK where HCC will hold 98 per cent stake and the balance will be held by Halcrow. A statement was posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
The project Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project is situated on the Kishanganga river in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The project involves construction of a 37m high concrete faced rockfill dam, 23.5 km of head race tunnel and underground powerhouse.
The project is an EPC contract where HCC will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of all items including civil and associated infrastructure works supply installation testing and commissioning of all electromechanical plant and machinery and hydro mechanical components including generating units.
The project will be completed in 84 months, the release said.
