Honda Cars domestic sales rise 20% in April

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) today reported 19.97% increase in its domestic sales for April 2013 at 8,488 units.
The company had sold 7,075 units in the same month last year, HCIL said in a statement.
During April, the company sold 1,917 units of its sedan City and 1,628 units of its small car Brio. It also sold 33 units of premium sedan Accord.
Besides, HCIL despatched 4,852 units of the latest sedan Amaze during last month.
The company also sold 58 units of its sports utility vehicle CR-V in April 2013.
In addition to these sales, the company also exported a total of 182 units during April 2013.
Commenting on the numbers, HCIL Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said: "Amaze has received tremendous response from the customers despite the slowdown in the industry. We are confident that Amaze will drive our growth in this fiscal."
