Industries in Jharkhand demand ban on iron ore export

Industry representatives of Jharkhand, during a meeting on Tuesday with the industry secretary A P Singh have asked for a complete ban on export of iron ore and to open up ore linkages to ensure the raw material is readily available for manufacturing steel.
The state government during the meeting with the representatives of various companies including SAIL and Tata Steel, invited the views of various stakeholders to incorporate their suggestions in the new steel policy proposed by the Union government.
The participating industries sought better iron ore linkages in line with that of coal producing companies.
