Inspection team slams OPG Power

Adding to the woes of OPG Power, which is already facing green troubles over its 300 MW thermal power plant in Gujarat, a government inspection team has alleged that the company was carrying on construction work at the project site without requisite approvals. A joint site inspection carried out by the state environment impact assessment authority (Gujarat), regional office of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, state expert appraisal committee and Gujarat pollution control board, has confirmed that OPG Power Gujarat had started construction for its 300 Mw thermal power plant without obtaining forest clearance.
