Intex targets Rs 12 cr from Karnataka

With South India emerging as one of the leading markets for computers, IT hardware and electronics firm Intex Technologies India is targetting Rs 12 crore revenue from Karnataka by launching new products.
 
Last fiscal, the firm earned Rs 6 crore from Karnataka. "This year, we will expand to other cities like Bellary, Raichur, Gulbarga, Shimoga and Tumkur through our channel partners," Intex Technologies managing director Narendra Bansal said recently.
 
The firm specialises in LCD monitors, speakers/subwoofers, keyboard, mouse, headphone, DVD/MP3/MP4 players and FM modulators. It also offers PCs, notebooks, computer peripherals and home theatre systems.
 
While north and west India account for 62 per cent of the firm's sales, east and south contribute 16 per cent and 22 per cent respectively. "We want to increase our presence in south India, one of the biggest markets for PCs. We will establish new channel partners," he added.
 
The firm recorded Rs 188 crore revenue last year and is expecting to touch Rs 275 crore this fiscal.
 
"We intend to touch Rs 500 crore by 2007-08. We aim to become one of the top three IT hardware and electronics firm by 2007-08. We are expanding rapidly all over the country by finalising new channel partners," Bansal said.
