According to president (legal) of Ispat Industries, Hemant Kumar, Ispat would need 2,000 acres for setting up the power plant.
Jharkhand assured help to expedite the process of land acquisition and coal block allocation. Ispat had a 3.5 million ton steel plant at Dolvi in Maharashtra and smaller steel plants at Nagpur in Maharashtra), Balasore in Orissa) and Nalagarh in Haryana.
The Ispat Industries team called on the state industries secretary K R Khandelwal to get assistance from the Jharkhand government for setting up a commercial production unit.
