JSW Steel November crude steel output up 78% on year

Production of long steel products continues to remain down year-on-year

JSW Steel Ltd’s crude steel production in November jumped 78% on year to 1.07 million tonne led by significant increase in flat steel production, the company said in a release today.

 

In the period under review, production of flat steel products increased 61% on year to 831,000 tonne, while that of long products continued to decline and was at 144,000 tonne, down 14% from same period last year.

 

Flat products find wide application in automotive sector, while long products are used mainly in construction and infrastructure segment.
