Jupiter Capital to invest Rs 2000 cr in Karnataka

Jupiter Capital, Rajeev Chandrasekhar's venture development, management, investment and infrastructure company Hindustan Infrastructure, have announced that they intend to invest over Rs 2,000 crore in various diverse projects including transportation and logistics infrastructure, aviation infrastructure and training, strategic technology parks, hospitality and entertainment in Karnataka over the next one year.
 
According to a statement from Jupiter, these investments and projects are estimated to create direct and indirect opportunities for up to 10,000 people in Karnataka over the next five years.
 
The company is focused on creating and building ventures and franchises of tomorrow. Jupiter Capital proposes to invest up to Rs 4,000 crore in Karnataka over the next five years.
 
Proposed projects include about Rs 900 crore in aviation, Rs 400 crore in hospitality and medical tourism, Rs 150 crore entertainment hub "� covering television, radio, publishing and cinema production, and a Rs 100-crore technology park for its two technology ventures Tayana Software and Jupiter Strategic Technologies.
 
In addition, Hindustan Infrastructure has also proposed a 1,000-Mw, Rs 4,000 crore coastal power project in public-private partnership with the state "� the project to be developed in Tamil Nadu. In a first-of-its-kind venture, this project will benefit two states - Karnataka and Tamil Nadu --in a unique model of private-public and state-state partnership.
 
Jupiter Capital and Hindustan Infrastructure already have strategic partnerships with a number of international names in technology, infrastructure and engineering including Neptune Orient Lines of Singapore, Rukindo of Indonesia, Thales and EADS of France and GLF of Italy.
